  • Expensive for something EOL.

    • Whilst this might be a good deal relative to RRP, this comment is a fair criticism. Neg seems a bit unfair.

It isn't in-wall but the Samsung Q950A sound bar with surrounds was around a thousand bucks recently, or for the same sort of money as this deal you could also get you a Sonos Arc 5.1 package if that's your thing - both would have ongoing support theoretically.

Completely correct with the Sonos. We did a few complete Sonos packages today. Easy to install ( for anyone ) and sounds great. Not a true 5.1 but pretty damn impressive.

Some people want a system to be almost hidden, and there is a good number of people who can’t stand the sight of a sound bar.

    • Bose are one the most over rated, over hyped brands. But it 100% works, if you have way too much money then here buy me, I'm a rich person brand, buy my brand not my quality.

      • most over rated … it 100% works

        Wut …

        • Better brands for the rich people than Bose!

        • Maybe your confused about hype Vs average working product.

          • the options you could get for $2895 are HUGE. For that price you could have an Atmos enabled system with a really good sub woofer.
  • These are a little out of my price range but I am interested in a wireless ceiling mount or in ceiling speaker option for a couple of rooms in my new build.
With apple homekit integration if possible…

    Any recommendations?

These are really cool, I put Home Hubs in my bathrooms using this brand for some fancy clock, media player and get the news while brushing my teeth.

Cutting holes through tiles and brick took all bloody day though

  • So this is to replace a whole system? Do people actually buy a system like this and then upgrade it in a few years time with a new system? Wouldn't it be better to say buy an extremely nice pair of front tower speakers and receiver first like say Dynaudio. Then when they can afford it buy rears/center etc and build a nice setup eventually? Speakers don't really die if driven properly so I dont understand the upgrade nature of the a system like this?

    • The lifestyle system has been around decades. From basic CD player to cd stackers and DVD. From RCA now to Hdmi arc. So an opportunity to freshen what you have. No difference to a car, newer can be better/more features

There are tens of thousands of these systems around the country. We would upgrade an old system every 2-3 weeks. It’s a system that lasts for years/decades

The appeal of a ‘ Home theater in a box’ is what the customer loves.

Then many people dont want an amp, floor standing speakers, wires everywhere and a total mess.

  • So are Bose just abandoning the home theatre market entirely beyond making not so reliable soundbars ?

  • Price dropped. You can now get the $400 off at the new price!
