[Preorder] Nintendo Switch Sports $56 @ Nintendo eShop

Looks to be the cheapest price for this game ($59 elsewhere with leg strap included). Digital too = no need to swap carts, but no resale value.

If you don’t already have the leg strap from Ring Fit you’re far better off paying the extra $3 for the physical version to have it included.

You're better off buying the physical copy regardless. Not only can you sell it and let others play, Nintendo is pretty terrible with backwards compatibility. Even if you bought his digitally, the odds of them letting you play it on a future system are slim.

      • Now when you say 'slim', are we talking more like 1% or 5%?
The only (digital) backwards compatibility I can think of is paying to upgrade wii virtual console games to wii u versions….

          Non-existant is my bet.

For the most part I agree, but Nintendo is far from terrible with backwards compatibility. Switch is the only system they have released in the last 16 years that hasn’t been completely backwards compatible with the system before it.

You underestimate the shit storm that would happen if it wasn’t backwards compatible. All digital purchase would become defunct with the Switch 1 and Nintendo would have burned down all the trust they’ve built. Not to mention they now place far FAR higher value on the Nintento Account numbers they’ve got than their Nintendo generational gimmicks.

If they burn that bridge many many people won’t be buying digital on Nintendo again. There’s not a chance in hell they’d be deaf to Sony and Xbox’s success with backwards compatibility. So its definitely not “slim” chances.

      • game sharing with digital is easier. it's basically a buy 1 get 1 free if you have multiple switches.

Only a little bit. Far from ideal to set your own Switch as the secondary one for your account and another Switch in the household as the primary one.

Plus no other users on your Switch has access to your digital games then.

I think Apple has it right with Purchase sharing in the household. Nintendo's already got households set up for Switch Online, they could let everybody in the same household have access to purchased software and DLC.
