How Long Does Shipping Take from Aliexpress?

Edit
It arrived today, 16th February (yay!)

I ordered some earphones from Aliexpress on the 21st Jan with tracking - but I'm curious to know how long in real time it will take for them to arrive? Fulfilled by Aliexpress, coming from China. I've never purchased from them before. Cheers 😊

4 to 6 weeks - but could be more.

    • +6

Took me 7 weeks, which might be considered "fast" for the issues AusPost has. I have bad history with shipping times from China. Typically it takes me 5 weeks, which sucks. When it gets to 8 weeks that's when I usually complain, and it either gets there that week or none at all.

But I've bought a watch from Singapore, came in a week. Sometimes things from Hong Kong take 2 weeks.

    • In my experience its bee 2 to 5 weeks for watch parts

  • +5

For free shipping I've waited months before. Forget what I even ordered by the time it arrives. Worth paying extra for faster shipping imo.

    • +7

ePacket never disappoints. Can use Auspost to track once its in Australia

      • I also never had problems with ePacket. Generally gets to me in 2 weeks. However I placed an order on 3 Jan with e-packet and still waiting…First time it took so long. YMMV

        • Just received an updated on my package. Arrived at destination (Au) on 24 Jan. Stuck there for 3 weeks. Now moved to Arrival at Processing Centre. Almost there.

      • my last epacket order took 3 weeks to reach australia and then another month to get delivered https://global.cainiao.com/detail.htm?mailNoList=LV367361790… .
i think even cainiao super economy global is quicker than that

  • Covid delivery issues and then in Oz auspost delivery issues. Oz post took a week to deliver a package from Melb to Syd, but it took 1 day to get from Melb to Chullora and then went to three different sorting centers and stayed at the last one for 2 days and it was a 15 minute drive from me. So it may take a while.

  • On average approx 3-4 weeks, sometimes longer

  • +1

under 2 weeks for me for my last order. YMMV, but its normally around 4ish weeks.

  • +7

I've had it in as little as 2 weeks, and as long as 2 months.

  • In your case add an extra 1 week for Chinese NY to the standard 2-4 weeks shipping time. All my recent orders arrived within 2 weeks and I think Aliexpress shipping fulfilment has lifted their game and much faster these days compared to Sing Post and ePacket. They even consolidate multiple orders for free. My last order from 22 Jan using Ali Std Shipping turned up yesterday in Melbourne.

    • It has left China already, a good two weeks ago. So hopefully I'm ahead of the biggest delay

      • +2

Not really, just caught up in the torrent of stuff trying to get out ahead of CNY

    • Minimum 1 week, personally I'd add 3.

  • +1

depends on what shipping option the seller is using. look at your order details. slowest takes up to 2 months, the quicker ones takes 2-4 weeks

    • I just looked and it says Aliexpress Selection Standard. I don't believe I was offered a faster option at checkout.

      • +2

aliexpress standard is one of the faster shipping methods 2-4 weeks (bar the overpriced dhl/fedex etc). it should have shown an eta on the item page. you should be able to view a snapshot of the transaction from the order details. aliexpress should send an email when the parcel arrives in the country

        • Yup, I've only just noticed the text that says estimated delivery March 15. Which would make it 7 weeks from my order date. I wonder if that means 2023 😂

  • +4

Usually between 2 weeks & Never!

  • Expensive items are faster ( aud 50 is expensive for ali standard)
Also buying from official stores usually arrives sooner.

  • +1

Anywhere between 1 week and 1 year! Sometimes it comes in a week. At others it can take months simply because it got held up somewhere. I've got one in transit for over a month and is now stuck in New Zealand, so near yet so far away.

    • My tracking also says Arrived at Auckland NZ.. is this normal? I thought it was wrongly addressed and not simply in transit. Don't know whether to contact seller now or wait a bit more.

      • Good to know I'm not the only one. Chances are it will be redirected and it will simply be a very long wait. Worse case, it is returned to sender, you can just file a dispute for a refund once the buyer protection runs out.

    • Oh wow thought I was the only one as well! Arrived in Auckland weeks ago and hasn't had any changes since then. The seller says it could likely be lost which I'll file a refund for once buyer protection runs out.

      • Mine too arrived in Auckland today. No idea why. Was wondering maybe the ship is via Auckland then Melbourne or Sydney. Did you get your parcel eventually?

        • Nope still nothing, have to wait another month before I can get a refund :/

    • Unexpectedly got an update today in the tracking! After landing in Auckland on 21JAN, "Item Processed At Post Facility CHULLORA NSW" today 25FEB. So all is not lost!

      • Same! Looks like our packages were on the same boat, lol.

  • Like what others said: will depend on product.

Have ordered items then received a month or two after, have also ordered items that came within the month.

  • +2

Ali-express will combine multiple items together. If you use Cainiao super saver (cheapest option) for multiple items Ali-express will normally combine the items and use Aliexpress Standard Shipping which is considerably faster than Cainiao.

  • Lately, I've received several AliExpress purchases in under 2 weeks but I also have one item that's over 6 weeks since ordering.

It's the luck of the draw.

  • +3

It takes what it takes. Aliexpress is like eBay, so it comes down to the actual seller, not so much "Aliexpress" per se. And if you use the cheapest freight option, you need to suck it up because it will take a long time. During the depths of Covid, parcels were taking 2 months to reach me from Ali sellers.

EPacket is the best value postage option, which is why you usually have to pay extra for it.

    • AliExpress is basically the back end of eBay

  • +1

    If postage excluded, forever.

  • +1

China can take 5 weeks, or more given the current climate

  • Huge variation, depending on a variety of factors both here and in the source and transit countries, but usually more expensive items have more expensive postage and are usually faster than the cheaper stuff. My experience is anywhere from a few days, up to 7 months was my slowest. Covid has slowed postage. There was a burst of fast deliveries in the Xmas lead up, but slowed down after.

  • Usually every item has an estimated delivery time.

As an example, some items I recently bought state April 11th (!)

From memory previous deliveries were a lot less than advertised, they arrived earlier.

Anecdotally 12 days delivery was my (theirs) best.

  • Depends on what shipping you chose. AliExpress standard shipping is about 2 weeks. Epacket and China air are about 3. Cainino is about 2 months. They're the main ones that I use.

  • Generally speaking 2-3 weeks to AU (unless it’s sea mail). Within AU adds another 2-3 weeks

  • +1

My wife uses Taobao and shipping takes 2 to 3 month. Cheapest option is ship.

She just click pay and forget. The good will travel the world before arriving.

  • I ordered an USB cable from AliExpress in July 2021, saw it tracked to Sydney a week later and finally arrived at my home last week! That was 7 months within Australia. I reckon a snail can beat that.

    • +5

Correct. Auspost can be outrun by a sedated turtle.

      • +2

And don't rush them and complain because the answers you'll get are actually insane.

      • Classic

  • One of my the phones I bought got stuck in customs and never got delivered. I got a refund but I've always wondered what happened.

  • I have over 50 orders from aliexpress - average would probably be like 3 weeks. The tracking provided is pretty actuate too

Fastest was probably was 1 week

    Longest was like 4.5 weeks

I had a item with no tracking which I never received but got refund anyways

  • I ordered some usb cables from aliexpress on Dec 14th. Didn't need them right away so I just went with their free shipping.

They arrived Dec 24th. I was very surprised.

  • About 2-3 weeks to land in Aus. Then another 2-3 weeks to WA for me. Sometimes I forgot what I order.

  • about 1 month depending on the seller too. if the seller rating is above 4.8 in shipping its like 4 weeks tops, if its lower its usually longer coz they take longer to ship it.

  • I bought reusable nappies from AliExpress and they took 10 weeks to arrive so I guess it just depends what you buy and the seller.

  • Recently received some small bike components in 2 weeks with free postage

  • 4-8 weeks is pretty standard in my experience.

  • Slightly off topic, does anyone have any concern about Covid on packages nowadays (not just China of course)? Do you try to clean the package in any way.
I've never really thought about this much, but there seems to have been a few articles about this lately.

    • +1

Being that in total about 300 people of working age or younger have died with Covid in their system at the time of their death, in the last two years (https://www.health.gov.au/health-alerts/covid-19/case-number…), what exactly are you concerned about?

You are more likely to die riding or driving/commuting to work or the shops.

  • -3

    From China? A looooooooong time.

    Have patience

After all you wanted to save money and not buy Australian.

    • -2

I do buy Australian Made products 90% of the time, which is better than what most people do (and probably better than you do yourself).

There is not a company on the planet that manufactures earphones in Australia. So you should probably step down from that rather tall horse you have there 🐴

  • +2

More than a month, hopefully less than two months.

If your item arrives earlier, save seller details for future purchases.

  • +1

I ordered a bunch of electronics components on AliExpress on 21 January, from 8 different sellers. All orders were via the "Cainiao" shipping method.
I received a notification from AusPost yesterday that the combined 8-in-1 package will be delivered on Tuesday.
This has been my experience a few times now with the "Cainiao" shipping option, as well as the "AliExpress Standard Shipping" method.

    • Yup.. they seem to have started clubbing multiple orders into one package, like Amazon does.

    • +1

So the package(s) arrived today. That's just over 3 weeks.

  • +1

    Ages,
    Disclaimer
(that is if the item is not lost in transit)

  • +1

Just assume everything is a surprise when you eventually receive it, as you're almost guaranteed to have forgotten it.

    • Ha! I’m the same, “oh cool! A fertiliser pump! What’s I need that for again?” Lol

  • my last order, placed in late Jan, arrived in about 2.5 weeks. One of the items from that order has yet to arrive, and its now week 3.

  • Fulfilled by AliExpress is hard to tell how long it will take. The main issue is that it depends on (1) where the item is and (2) whether it gets transferred to another fulfilment centre.

The worst case is that AliExpress does not have that item in the warehouse. In that case, the seller sends it to the warehouse. That warehouse is in China. The next question mark is whether the item gets transferred to AliExpress Singapore. If it does, how long does it take for AliExpress Singapore to process it and send it to you.

It gets tricky when the item hasn't been received and the deadline is approaching. Because it is fulfilled by AliExpress, AliExpress will take the maximum time allowed (for the item to be delivered to you) before ruling. It could lead to you losing the cash rewards (or shopback rewards as you could miss the confirmation window as the item has not yet been received). It was pretty bad when Covid hit the first year. I think it's better now (fulfilled by AliExpress I mean).

    • I've got a parcel cleared and awaiting intl departure in Singapore for the last 3 weeks coming up to 4. Are Singapore known to be incredibly slow at sending parcels out?

      • My experience (from last year), yes. That Singapore leg was really slow. Slower than the China to Singapore leg for me. Two of them took more than 4 weeks, with one of them took close to 8 weeks. That one, I missed out on the shopback rewards because I couldn't confirm the item received within the window. That item literally arrived the very last day before AliExpress had to refund due to item not received.

Also, I think even with Fulfilled by AliExpress, there are different grades of services. I did have a couple which used those (but those were more expensive items). Both just went China -> Australia, skipping Singapore.

  • Depends on the item and how they ship it.

I’ve had items take between 2 weeks and 8 weeks on standard/free shipping.

  • Interestingly, shipping for Aliexpress overseas items is faster than those of eBay for some reason. Also, Aliexpress tracking seems to be more professional and accurate. It takes 2-4 weeks usually.

  • Depends if they have a warehouse located in Australia, Some items may take 1 weeks, most other items 4 - 8 weeks.
I ordered from TaoBao, boat is 2-3 months, air is 2 weeks.

  • I ordered something in November last year and it only took a week to arrive, and that was the cheapest China Post shipping option. I have found most things from China usually arrive pretty quick, usually within 2 weeks.

  • Around 12 months ago, I ordered 6 things from different AliExpress stores in China. 1 arrived after a month. Another arrived after 3 months. 4 never arrived. I got refunded for these. Generally, I've never been out of pocket, but completely unreliable so don't order anything urgent or important to you.

  • Aliexpress Standard shipping is sent by UBI , if you have Australia Post app, this will eventually turn into an Australia Post number, also most items get sent to their sorting warehouse and may get shipped out together as a Combined Delivery. All up 3 weeks to 6 weeks depending on flights. Slowest by far is anything sent by Canaio. Could be months. Just had 5 orders delivered today in WA all in combined order, took 3 weeks albeit probably faster had it not been for Chinese new year. However have a parcel by ubi arrive in WA after 5 days seems alot more flights outta China at moment due to the Olympics.

Remember anything that comes from shenzhen (special economic zone) is normally cheaper as postage is free or heavily subsidised by CCP.

  • 4 to 12 weeks with cheapest option.

  • +1

My experience is 2-4 weeks and surprisingly quicker than I expected. I ordered 2 items on 30 Jan right before the CNY and nothing happened until 4th Feb and I got my delivery today from China. The items are about AUD 150. On my previous order where the value is around $5, it took about 4 weeks.

  • Been ordering from aliexpress for years now. Quickest for me has been 1.5 weeks shipped from SG, longest has been around 4 months but pretty sure that was when Auspost dropped it behind their sorting counter or something. Don't use aliexpress for things you need by a particular time.

  • Anything ive bought that is shipped via "AliExpress Standard Shipping" as the shipping option has arrived in less than two weeks (based off my last 10 or so orders)

  • +1

Everything I've ordered has taken months to arrive. Sometimes 4 months.

  • I've made over 150 orders and i'd say my average is 2-4 weeks. Longest about 3 months but that is highly unusual.

  • I buy regularly from Aliexpress and some items have taken longer than others. My last two orders where here in just over 2 weeks so usually about 2-3 weeks. I receive emails when the item is in Australia and then it takes about 3 business days to be delivered.

  • With AliExpress, there are so many different types of postage available. Asking when an item will arrive without detail won't give you the correct answer.

    • Even for the same courier provider, there are different grades of service. That includes fulfilled by AliExpress (definitely multiple grades, good ones are good, cheap ones are @#$@#$ (could be pretty awful)).
    • It really comes down to the actual postage paid by the seller.

Recently purchased 5 items from AliExpress, the item I ordered last arrived first. It was ordered one day before Chines New Year and has already arrived. Some of the remaining items, by the time the 5th item arrived, they still haven't departed from China (sellers posted them, but cheap postage used).

Don't expect fast postage for dirt cheap items. For more expensive items, you could expect prompt deliveries of those items. For example, those el cheapo items I am waiting to be delivered, I expect to receive them some time in April.

  • if sent via https://global.cainiao.com
sit back and don't bother expecting it soon

  • Allow up to 3 months. After that time - you might not get them at all.

  • Best time was six days using AliExpress standard. Think it was a smaller item. If you put the tracking number into 17track, you might get more info.

  • Sometimes 3 weeks , sometimes .. 3 months ..

  • How Long Does Shipping Take from Aliexpress?

    4-6 weeks if you're lucky…
