Seems like the most recommended mid and low-range phones in the stickies are all quite large, so am hoping for suggestions for some small phones. I'm also very welcome to purchasing the phone second hand.
I've got a Pixel 2 and have been using it for about almost 4 years now, but the battery degradation has taken it's toll and it's not quite lasting a full day anymore. Not a heavy phone user, mainly just for Spotify, messenger and browsing on public transport. Good camera, processor, etc would be nice but not necessary. As a benchmark, I'm quite happy with the camera and responsiveness of the Pixel 2.
Needs:
- USB C charging
- Small, preferably <15cm in height
- Long battery life
- NFC
Preferable to have:
- 3.5mm jack
Trying to keep the cost under $500. Been eyeing second hand Pixel 4a and Pixel 5, which seem to be around that mark on Facebook. Is this the best option or are there better alternatives?
Thanks.
USB-C, NFC, under 15cm tall and 3.5mm jack is actually a really small list of phones, there's only 4 from the last couple of years. Dropping the headphone jack you add the Huawei P40 and the Pixel 5, that's about it.
So I'd say the Pixel devices are the way to go, if the height is a fixed requirement
edit: Lot of thoughts on the Zenfone 8 in this thread too - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/679809 - it was $600 a couple of weeks ago from JB.
