  • IS this for new or existing holder as well?

    • +1

Not for existing customers (it’s not a recharge) but you may have luck with customer service/chat in activating it on your existing account.

    • What's stopping from porting out and porting back in?

    • -2

$2 Telstra SIM, Port out and port in. Done.

      • no, boost is on the telstra network, porting to vodafone would be easier and quicker

  • +1

Will wait till they support esim, even woolworths mobile is supporting atm

    • What will that do? Apart from not needing to physically obtain the sim card, any other benefits?

      • +2

Locally sold iPhones only do dual sims with an eSim. Could be handy to have your main account on a long expiry eSim plan while sim slutting your secondary / burner number amongst starter packs for cheap data, or better reception from a different operator.

        • I see, thank you for explaining this

    • Wait what? Woolworths support esim?

  • Lebara looks better when compare to Boost. This is for new Customers.

    Any suggestions?

    • +4

Not the full Telstra 4G network…..

    • +2

Using Lebara now after using Boost previously.
It works well enough in urban areas but isn’t fantastic when going beyond major cities.

I’ve bought a Boost card to get back onto it in a month or two.

    False

    • +1

What’s the fault in the description?

  • +6

Item 2 is wrong, you can MOST DEFINITELY port your existing Boost number to this SIM and effectively use it as a recharge. Many people have done this. You just need to talk to them on live chat via the Boost web site.

    • Just confirmed this is correct. Thanks mate

    • So what do you say on chat? Just play stupid?

  • +1

Damn can't believe I wasted $4 buying this earlier from a different supplier.

  • +1

I'm currently with Boost but I'm really annoyed that they are now blocking calls to countries not among those 50 listed above; I can only send SMS to my family in Eastern Europe, or use VOIP.

    • They have already changed the plans by moving older plans to new plans with 20 destinations (unlimited). Changed happened on 1st feb

  • Does it have international roaming

    • No. Link

International roaming is not available on your Boost Mobile service.

However, we are planning to launch a new version of international roaming in early 2022.

    • +1

Wifi calling works while overseas. Uses data from local eSIM or regular wifi. Incoming calls, outgoing to Aussie numbers and text messages worked while I was overseas recently

  • Hi OP

What is the expiry of the SIM if I don't activate it for a few months?

    • +4

Why don’t you read the whole description. Same efforts is required as your question.

  • Whats the service like with boost? Currently with optus.

    • +1

      Very good

    • You are comparing full Optus services with full Telstra services (because ONLY Telstra & Boost have access to all Telstras towers). If you leave the cities then Telstra/Boost is really the only option.

      • So in other words if im in sydney there shouldnt be a noticeable difference?

        Does boost support 5g?

What happens if the 280gb is exceeded?

        • +1

No 5G .. exclusive to tier 1 operators.

If 280Gb is reached it will stop you will have to buy in packs, with wifi around at home and considering living afterhours at home, friends or hotel where wifi is around … you should survive with extra in data bank.

  • How much do you get if you activate after that date? Thanks

  • how much is 12 month boost recharge?

    • +2

Look it up and tell us all.

  • Existing boost customer … but no deal must be ebay plus member … shame.

  • Thanks OP… Pulled the trigger; actually got the 140GB one from the same seller for $150.21… seems good to me, not sure how low they've gone in the past?

  • So the boost app doesn’t seem to show any info (yes wifi is off). Any tips for seeing my remaining data?

    • +1

Keen to know the solution to this. Apparently they keep asking you to download the new app if you are on 1 of the new plans post Feb or something, but no matter what you do it just doesn't work. It is very hard to keep a track of your usage. It always used to work for me until recently.

    • Boost app hasn't worked for me for a long time. Dial #111# instead.

    • +1

'Original' Boost app got discontinued and a new app called "My Boost Mobile" was launched some time back. You will need to use new app to access all the feature. From memory, you might need to do some sort of new registration as well but i could be mixing something up.

  • Hi guys, quick question - I'm currently with Telstra, taking advantage of the $5/month AFL Kayo subscription. This subscription is due to renew in early March, I believe. Do you think that if I wait for the new year of this subscription to begin, then churn across to Boost using this deal in mid-late March, will I still get to keep the $5/month Kayo subscription for the full year after this? Or will the price update automatically as soon as I leave Telstra?

    • +1

If you’re being billed for Kayo through Telstra, then it definitely won’t continue at $5, but you might be in with a shout if you’re being directly charged through your debit/credit card. Not sure for certain though.
