  What is your definition of threadcount? Just checking because there was a rep once who measured per 5cmx5cm, instead of per square inch.

  As in, "3.16cm x 3.16cm"?
  If so, that is VERY deceiving, because thread counts for bed linnen are normally reported in 2.54cm x 2.54cm (1 square inch).

  So your 600 thread count is really only 482 thread count.
  And your 400 thread count is really only 321 thread count.

    Please understand, we are not trying to mislead anyone. In Australia and N.Z. thread count is defined as the total number of threads per 10 square centimeters, that's the market we're dealing with here.

      Ok, that's a fair explanation. I was not aware of the different international standards.
      Makes me wonder which standards other shops use now.
