Any Scalable Business Ideas with less or minimal education?

Looking for a scalable business that can lead me to be financially well off

Not a troll post, long time watcher just made an account now as I'm 27 and I'm sick of working under someone for 78k plus super in a steady job what has no chance of moving up the ladder unfortunately, basically a dead end job. I want to buy investments, travel the world and be financially set for life (I know it is a lot to ask for, but I want to hear from you guys the wise old Ozbargainers hehe

  • Thinking of going into study postgrad in Conveyancing at MacQ uni (2 year course)
  • GongCha business
  • Study 3 week real-estate course, work under someone for a year as a sales associate and sell houses, gradually over the years study and apply to open own independent real-estate business or buy in a franchise
  • Any other ideas that will be good to look into?
Thank you all for your input, hopefully it will be some insight on what I can focus on. I'm looking for something that would earn decent coin.

        • It's a double edge sword, IMO I would never buy a franchise, sure everything is technically set up for you but building your own brand is harder work but if successful, you reap all the benefits.

This is where the OP can start their own bubble tea brand but with so many bubble tea brands out there, what can the OP do to be different?

Like with any type of customer-facing shopfronts, barbers, hairdressers, bakeries, nail salons, massage parlours etc…… there are so many that consumers are spoilt for choice, but look at the successful ones that are bringing in profit (not necessarily a brand with multiple stores), what are they doing to keep up with current trends that make them popular. One business owner could just have 1 shop and that would be enough for him/her to live on.

  • A successful business involves not just one thing, but many things, and involves you being good at many things. Long hours. Grit and commitment.

It's not just because you run a business, you will make money, most businesses make less than if you were working a wage.

Regardless, either way it'll take a lot of education, not just academic.

You rarely make good coin with franchises unless you're going a trade.

Seriously I know of people with no education that would make some degree holders sick earning 150K pa .
With wages around like this for most people its better working for the man .

You just need to buy crypto. The secret is to just hold it forever.

  • You're looking at the right time.

Spend your days trying to make NFTs and eventually someone with more money than sense will buy one.

What's something unique and special you can create the illusion of being someones?

    Step 1: Save $10000
Step 2: Find a new trend, watch few youtube videos on it and make course on how to make money using that. Eg: Defi or NFT flipping.
Step 3: Rent a Manson and lambo for a week. Record few clips .
Step 4: Rent few models and Yacht and record few clips.
Step 5: Advertise that course using the clips from step 3 and 4.
Step 6: Buy that mansion and the yacht.

Anyone who thinks being in real estate is easy money is exactly the type of people they love to recruit to do the dirty work. The reality is most REA work like dogs and only 1 out of 100 are actually whom you consider "successful". The rest are just burned out agents earning average wages.

  • Make and sell overpriced niche donuts.

why not just open up a bank? people give you money.

    • Simples, given current low interest rates it will be instant profit.

Not sure why no-one has suggested a trade yet. In demand, high paying, and opportunity to start up a business.

    • Too long to learn, then too much like hard work for some people.

    78k at 27 isn't terrible.

I think I was on a similar Salary at that age too- admittedly with some good perks like top-tier health cover. Mind you, that was 10 years ago!

Look- what are your skills both formal and informal? What are your strengths?
Are you private or government? I do apologise, I didn't trawl through all the posts.

There are ways to progress in salary if you change sectors for example- i.e. go the resource sector. Salaried jobs without the hustle do have their merits.
I had a background in IT Support and Sales and moved into a Customer Success role for a tech company. Sometimes the skills you have can combine to make you more coin too. My pay has jumped up 30% from my last job.

I don't have a degree. I have a Cert IV in IT, am Microsoft certified and have attended various other training courses that all add up.

So- I'm 37 now and on six figures. Is it an amazing salary? No- but it's solid and we have a comfortable lifestyle.

TAFE is underrated. You can go and get a reasonably cheap (HECS free) education and progress. Or learn AWS or another cloud platform and work from anywhere in the world earning a six-figure salary. There are so many ways to earn good coin.

Just think about your pivot, work to your strengths.
