    But….does it actually do anything

Fluoro urine! Helps you aim in the middle of the night

      • +2

Plus if you splash it around a bit you get a great high vis bathroom

      • And it make the colour more fruity

    • +2

A blood test can reveal if you are deficient in micronutrients.

Actually there was a recent report just this week which again showed very disappointing results. But when I take this I swear I am more alert in the afternoon than when I don't. It's not a placebo because I've trialled it a number of times.

      • Same. Worth trialing them I reckon.

Good point… placebos never strike twice

        • +2

Not just a couple of times. Many more than that. In my line of work you don't have time by the afternoon to think about when you took that multivitamin in the morning. You soldier on but when the down hits it's noticeable. Vitamin B definitely has an effect on alertness so it doesn't mean the whole formula is a dud but the issue is does the body take advantage of the whole set of ingredients. Studies don't show a lot of promise in that regard.

In my line of work you don't have time by the afternoon to think

            Whoa!… I know that feeling…

      • How do you figure it's not a placebo effect?

        • +2

Nothing scientific mate but two reasons:

          1. I didn't think it would do anything. I was totally sceptical. I didn't even want to take it.

          2. Given point 1, and the fact I was very strongly encouraged by my partner rather than wanting to take it, I never paid attention until I noticed a difference in my performance in my busy afternoons.

          • @[Deactivated]: So what you're saying then is you've no idea if it's placebo or not.

            • @Willywolfy: No definitely not a placebo mate, he is taking the real vitamins

              • +1

@opilot87: But is he taking a vitamin that looks like it that he thinks is real to compare to the times that he is taking the real thing?

                • @reunig: Clearly he isn’t, he is taking the real vitamins. Why the confusion?

          • @[Deactivated]: If you feel the difference, its good. People who are healthy with balanced diet will not feel the difference and no point proving it to them. I can see swiss multi has caffeine along with Vit B and ginsing which can give you a little boost in the day. For people lacking vitamins and nutrients in their diet might feel better after having these.

    3000 cents not 30,000… ?

    • +9

The regular everyday low price at Woolies is $300. But you get 60,000 tablets, so that’s only $2.60 for a litre of milk. Hope that clears everything up for you

        Thanks ScoMo.

        • +4

ScoMo doesn't buy his own milk or bread, he let us know that this morning.

These things taste like garbage and are what I imagine smelling salts that are 50 years old smell like.

    • +2

So you’re saying these are excellent for your alertness levels. Better than a cup of coffee in the morning… check

I currently use the men's multivitamin and I find that I have a bit more stamina during the day in a sense that I feel less tired during and after work.
But yes, it tastes and smells absolutely horrible

If you don't drink at least 4L of water, your urine will basically be yellow, fun times.

  • 25c per tablet is my standard for this stuff now. 120 packs from Chemist Warehouse when they have the right sale.

  • How come most of the multi v's on amazon have 5/5 rating, do people find them really useful? I have never noticed any difference other than fluro pee.

    • +1

      placebo

    • As long as you eat something somewhat close to a balanced diet you don't need vitamin supplements. It's nothing more than a con for the simpleminded.

      • You also don’t need coffee if you eat something somewhat close to a balanced diet

      • +4

Most people don’t eat anything close to resembling a balanced diet, hence the need for supplements.

      • Everyones diet and lifestyle is different mate. Not everyone who takes multivitamins are "simple-minded".

        • There's a place for them if medically prescribed but otherwise you're overwhelmingly more than likely just literally peeing money down the toilet.

          • @Willywolfy: ofc, there's no need to take any form of supplements if you're already meeting your dietary requirements

    • I have a medical condition where Vit B,bicarb, magnesium and D levels are always low so was told to take a specific multivitamin and the increase levels are reflected in blood tests. I dont feel any difference when levels were low (maybe muscle soreness after training lasted a longer?) compaired to "normal" levels in blood tests.
