Panbio Abbott COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test 20-Pack $269.90 Delivered @ Medisa

210
10OFF

Stumbled upon the coupon code when trying a few basic ones. Not sure if it was meant to be active but it might get disabled soon.

"Very high sensitivity" and "Evidence of performance against Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Kappa, Zeta, Theta, Eta and Omicron variants". Also German made if that's what does it for you

Compared to other tests that only offer detection of delta and/or omicron at lower sensitivities, I'd consider this a much better deal

We just ordered a 20 pack in anticipation of bucks/wedding stuff, trying to make sure the family is uninfected until after the wedding at least (lol)

    That is ridiculously expensive.

How is it a bargain ?

    • +6

Why do you bold certain words? Genuine question. Is it to emphasise your point in few words or another reason?

      • +4

Because it's jv? It's like asking why water is wet haha

Why do you bold certain words?

        Why do people climb mountains?

        Because I can…

        • That's very fair enough, I was just curious. Thanks for the reply.

bargain in this case is a very high sensitivity test for many covid19 variants, in stock and delivered next week, to avoid us having to postpone our wedding (again) or close family members missing it

in the scheme of things, it's a bargain

      • +8

It does not mean it is bargain if only the stock is available and will be delivered next week lol.

        Bargain means cheap

        • -3

Well bargain is cheapest price you can get right now. If this is the only price available right now then still a bargain unfortunately.

          • +5

@Letrico: Disagree. An item on a market for a vastly inflated price isn’t a bargain because of a lack of competition.

            • @ajr5k: @jr5k using that logic surely every video card listing of the past 24 months is far worse

report them to ACCC for inflating RAT prices.

    • 4 pack for $10 overseas amazing what's happening here.

      • not being subsidised here

        • It’s not subsidized in Singapore yet it is $5

  • +4

I am in India currently and can easily get it for $5 per kit here, Omicron is readily available freely in market too.

    • +3

      Indibargainer?

    • +1

In Tassie and RATs are free from the government for anyone who thinks they have symptoms 😉

      • same in VIC

20 pack in India costs Rs 4850 = approx AUD 90.50 delivered in India.

      • 10 pack of Abbot Panbio from Changi airport(Guardian) costs SGD$48.60

        • But can Guardian send it to you? It is pointless to compare prices if we are unable to buy it.

          • @t25: This is demand and supply demonstrated clearly.

  • +3

Die, Rapid Antigen RRP 'deals'. Just, a big fat…NAWWWWW.

  • good, cheap and fast - you can only pick two.

  • +4

    $10 or don't bother testing

Other countries is free or $1 at the servo

  • Keep in mind I believe this kit of 20 units has all of the vials in one large bag.
Therefore hard to hand them out as individual units to people without man handling.

  • +1

    Sponsored by Tony Abbott

  • If you paying more than $8 (delivered) per kit , you got issues or you are loaded.

    • If you are buying for (or less) than $8 and you have not posted here then you are not a true OzBargainer or you are just BS…

      • +1

Costco still selling at a price of $7.75 each, knock your self out.

  • The one I got is Made in Korea

  • +1

Made in Germany is not guaranteed. My last box was Made in Korea and there is a Made in China version listed too.

These are more expensive than the Alltest ones sold by Costco. Keep in mind that these are not individually packed. You get 2 bags of 10 components each, except for the cassette itself which is individually wrapped. The tubes, buffer are all in packs of 10, you get a cardboard stand that holds 9 samples at a time.

This RAT is more for bulk usage, rather than single individual usage. I guess it is good if you have a family size where you have to test 4-5 people at the same time.

    • Panbio was never made in Germany though. They were developed by a german company but they're produced in Korea. Didn't know they also made Panbio in China.

You can buy this exact product in Singapore for S$102.00 current price (previously S$94.20 a few weeks ago). Australia is the land of price gouging!

  • +1

I like Panbio. A bit pricey but they seem good - VH Sensitivity and pick up Omicron/Delta etc. $7.50 at Costco is great but TGA list it as H Sensitivity and no Omicron. If you buy, might as well get the best coverage for a RAT. Not going buy a Corolla with only 3 wheels because it’s 1/2 price.

  • Many compare Singapore price to Australia not fair and I am surprise no one has point out the reason…..

Singapore is what we call a logistics hub, both for air freight and sea freight. Don't ask me why it's when it is such a small country. It just is!!

So the cost to get cargo to Singapore is relatively cheap as there is so many service going there, again both sea and air. Now the leg beyond Singapore is a total different ball game. Australia is currently logistically under serve by freight operator while being price gouged.

    • This is OzBargain, all about getting the products for the best prices. If you want to pay ripoff prices, no one is stopping you. 🤷‍♂️

      • There is a difference between bargain and unrealistic expectation.

Don'r know how people expect they can get their hands on RATs for $5 when wholesale goes for $4-5? I guess it is Ozbargain sprite to expect drivers and shop workers to work for free too🤣🤣🤣
