If you're not sure when to finish then just ask her

Or just keep going until you get the tap on the shoulder.

There are some pretty bad reviews for this - eg DC Rainmaker. However, my friend has one, doesn't care about GPS accuracy, just wants to tell time, messages and heart rate - and is happy.

  • Just upgraded my Fitbit Charge 4
Northing wrong with it per se but always a bit hard to tell the time in bright light (new one 2x brighter). Don't care about colour particularly but the OLED screen is nice and it's a bit slimmer.

Got Officeworks to price beat the Iconic (was 20% off), $205 Amazon US cheap now $120 (~$175 AUD).

    • I used to have an Ionic and have since had the Charge 2 and Charge 3.

Hearing so many bad things about the Charge 4 and Charge 5, I think it would be a "downgrade" on getting another Ionic.
Going to try that price beat too

  • Literally bought one 3 days ago, arrived yesterday off Amazon for $250… classic.

    • I would email them or take advantage of the returns (but they'd just refund the diff hopefully)

  • From my research and this YouTube channel, charge 5 comes out on top for value, and sleep analysis (the guy has a rankings board) https://youtu.be/6oNGpQZakxU

  • Best features hidden behind a paywall that you get 6 months access to when you buy, but after that, $15/month or $129/year… F you Google. Oh, and yeah, Google gets all you biometric data which they surely, never ever, in no way would ever, monetise at some point.

Fitbit had a Fitbit Premium plan and features well before Google ever bought them out.
May as well use the trial, then cancel it. I don't think most people would really need most of it and the stock features/app are still fully functional. Bit like Strava, the devs wouldn't exactly all work on it for free forever, but the base product is still good for most people.

      • The sleep stats is the most valuable data to me, but that's a subscription feature…

        • Oh right what extra features? Get the subscription then.
It's the type of thing that would make you more anxious worrying about it if you delve into it too much.

At least the sleep displays on the unit, could never get it to display on the charge 4

        • Just had a look at the app - 'Sleeping Heart Rate' & 'Restlessness' is now premium. O2 variation included on standard.
I can't remember if the Charge 4 included them (had a feeling it may have). Either way the history looks to be locked with the app anyway once you got a Charge 5.

Depends how much data you need, I know when I don't get a good sleep (the scores and hours), and easy to tell if restless if the percentage of awake and light sleep is higher. If you have or worried about (or interested in) heart palpitations etc then premium would be the way to go, or other more serious/medical equipment.

I noticed that ECG and EDA scan is new on the Charge 5

Either way I think it's still a great device for the cost and for what it is. 7 days battery is what you want, not starting/stopping activities like a garmin which would chew battery, Whoop forced yearly subscription is expensive, and Apple watches are a lot more $$$

          • @G-rig: Not sure if you read this, but I noticed that the sleep device on my charge 4 ONLY works if I take a second nap during the days. Doesn't work if I only sleep once at night, but always work if I take a day nap.

            • @kevorulez: Hi, yeah that doesn't sound right, a lot of users had some issues with it, got to look up the posts on the community site there are some kind of fixes perhaps.

PS day time naps would be nice

  • What's the chances of Officeworks price matching this?

    • That would be nice it would be about $195?
They usually say no, as you need a prime membership.
Free delivery would be over x amount but via US you may struggle. worth a go

      • Prime membership isn't required to purchase. If no membership you pay $11 shipping. Which would be eaten up by the 5% price beat anyway

        • Correct so no free postage if not a member
Just go price beat the iconic if still 20% off

Price beat successfully at officeworks Greenacre,NSW.
They were so busy there they didn’t even check that there was delivery.
    Got the black for $189.30.

    • I also can confirm one today from Officeworks Burleigh with price beat. Store was so busy with back to school parents, which helped ;)
      Thanks

    • I called OW Greenacre, first they confirmed they can do the price match and then they called me back the stuff is different, really upsets me

Different prices for different colours: the black is $190.51! $206 is for the grey or white! Save $16 and go black.

  • will TGG do the price match with amazon?
