Wireless Router: Cheapest one available?

hey guys, i'm looking to buy a wireless 150 router. could be a belkin, netgear or D-Link, just as long as it's a 150 wireless router without a modem. i'm planning on pricematching with officeworks and just need to find a cheap one. the officeworks guy said they'd price match anything — including an online store so that's why i'm looking for it.

i found this on ozbargain, but it's no longer on harvey norman's site: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/66311 i tried contacting the thread creator but he doesn't have PMing on.

thanks all

  • different question deserves a different thread. i'm only looking for a 150 wireless router to price match with Officeworks.

  • Staticice…that is all.

  • I purchased one of these from Harvey Norman for $19. Haven't opened it yet but its a belkin Connect N150. Can send you a copy of the Tax Invoice if that helps.

  • ok thanks, i'll take a look at staticice.

    i'd appreciate a link peterlong1952. thanks

  • Personally, I do not like d-link products.

Looks like the Netcomm and Netgear can most likely run dd-wrt, this is custom firmware that will give the router extra features. I would go for one that could run it, because it gives you extra flexibility.

  • ok thanks bro. i just want something that has good range on it. should i just take the cheapest one?

  • anyone? i'm trying to decide between one of the four.

    • +1

Dude, seriously, you can't expect to have your hand held for everything; or have other people make your decisions for you!

Do what the rest of us do, google for a few reviews of the potential candidates, look for pro's & con's, write them down & make a choice. Then, check the best price on shopbot/staticice/OzB/lasoo or wherever & take that to Orificeworks for your pricematch. You've gotta bite the bullet sometime.
