    Steer clear of antibacterial soap. The addition of antibacterial agents is a marketing tool.

    Widespread use of antibacterial products promotes antimicrobial resistance. And there is no proven medical benefit: antibacterial soaps have not been shown to be better at preventing the spread of germs or preventing infection. The best that can be said is that they aren't actively harmful to you.

    What is important is that you wash thoroughly.

    Antibacterial washes are in most instances completely overkill and promote antimicrobial resistance. These posts really should have to include such a warning.
