With 3 high-powered CREE LEDs, it's pretty much gonna burn the retinas off anyone who dares face it. Seems like a pretty decent torch for the price, even though build quality won't compare to a Maglite etc.

  • High brightness, intensity and visibility
  • Waterproof and skid-proof, exquisite workmanship, durable and low power consumption

  • Have one of this from ebay, it was bright but definitely not 3800 lumens, more like 800 lumen. Price is good though as I paid $62 from ebay, seller from China.

Updated: Mine one comes with batteries and charger, so that may not be that good deal, not sure how much the batteries and charger cost.

    I don't know…I have pretty big Retinas.

The ridiculous 3800 lumens quote is clearly 'aimed at' gun-happy Americans who think they might be able to spotlight Russian satellites and pesky coyotes on the moon.

  • You will need 2 3.7v batteries and charger for this as well.

  • Do they make a similar thing in a prawning light?

Ie. A light that can be submerged underwater and used to spot various sea life…

    • Cree make a diving torch which I use for scuba diving. I've done 3 dives with it. It stopped half way through on my night dive (running constantly) and I've done 2 day dives where I turn it on and off. All was fine. Great torch as long as it works all the time. Another night dive will be the true tester. It didn't flood so I don't know what happened??

      • CREE only make the LED. The torch itself is not necessarily a CREE (brand) torch. In other words, you can't assume that the quality of one CREE torch will be the same as the next.

    • how about an IPX-8 rated headlamp? leaves 2 hands free for prawning when the light is out of the water, and you can strap it to your knee when it's under water. 90 lumines should be enough to see prawns within reach of your net.

Not really for diving, but good for prawning!

Not a deal - dealextreme has the same torch for $40 USD delivered: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/trustfire-tr-3t6-xm-l-t6-5-mode….

Im not a big fan of DX, but then again, I dont really know enough about Tmart to suggest why paying $8 more may be worth it.

  • I thought Cree XM-L were rated at just under 1000 lumens each when driven at their max rated amperage of 3A.

So seeing that there are only 3 XM-L's in this thing, 3800 lumens would not be accurate. It should be no more than
    3000 lumen if that.
