Call me crazy but the new rippas are just not as good

    • +2

      Yeah there pretty ordinary now

    • +2

      Agreed

    • Agreed. Thought the first crap one was an anomaly so I gave it another shot…shame on me I guess.

      • +3

Yep - tried 3 times just to be sure at 3 different RR… like it’s not horrible but we’ll it’s not even in the same league.

    • +4

      I agree with crazy.

    • +1

Few of us were talking about this the other week, none of us like the new rippa tenders.

    • You definitely need to get it with roast chicken. The tenders are rubbish (always have been) but with hot roast chicken it is 👌

      • The roast chicken with mayo roll is pretty ok if you have it fresh right in the restaurant or car- if it sits for longer than even 5 minutes I find it’s just a soggy mess…

  • +1

What's the thing to get? Never been…

    • +4

Try the fried chicken and definitely get the chips. When they’re fresh and seasoned just right … wow. * chefs kiss *

  • Hopefully comes with a bonus bag of herbs 👿

Anyone else coming up $27.50 for AFF250? Is there a surcharge for public holiday? 🤔

    • +7

says on the title of the post about the surcharge for public holidays

    • +2

Lmao did you even read the post title

    • Bro 😐

  • +2

    When does this expire?

    • Also want to know

    • When the chicken gets cold.

  • +3

When did the likes of Red Rooster start charging 10% extra on public holidays?

    • +3

      Helps with laundering extra cash

    • +10

Tbf, their staff are paid a fair bit more. I also think most of their customers would be willing to pay it on a public holiday for the convenience.

  • +3

Not really good value, I'd rather the $6.95 KFC hack for 4 pieces of chicken.

    • Do you have a link to this hack, I never heard of it with 4 pieces for $7

      • +18

Go to KFC app, add the Cheap as chips special to cart. Then click the 4 pieces for $6.95 add on, remove the cheap as chips order.

        • +1

          Genius. Lunch sorted tomorrow

        • The app crashes every time I remove the main meal from the order. Anyone else experience this?
edit if I select an additional add-on, then delete the main meal, then delete the second add-on, it doesn't crash.

        • Legend. An hour after reading this I did it and it worked.

          • @DrSwag: no worries, I thought everyone on ozbargain would've known by now hahaha

    • +4

But you get 2x Large Chips, 1x Large Mash & Gravy, 1x Large Crunchy Coleslaw, 1x 1.25L Drink and delivery all for another $11. I think that’s better value.

      • True….

  • +7

Recently tried their fried chicken and was surprised that they taste better than KFC! The marinade goes deeper to the meat somehow, making it more flavourful

    • +8

It's nice and crunchy, but tbh it's all salt that you can taste.

    • +3

It's not bad compared to original off but hot spicy shits all over it for flavour.

  • +6

Just an FYI, the delivery prices are higher than the same item in store. So when they say delivery is free, there is normally still a 15% or so fee on each item already.

    • -6

It's higher and also getting stuff delivered it only applies to one order so it's not worth even considering this deal, my god these members are dumb quick to upvote but not to test

    • You're the type of guy that would of placed an order for 10+ pizzas on that Dominos deal recently. Always taking more then is given, ruining it for everyone else.

  • Just ordered the Aussie Fried Feast $25 in Brisbane and I was not charged a surcharge.

    • Ah! One benefit of "changing the date" !

  • -1

thanks for sharing op! Is there a minimum for pickup?

    • These codes can only be used for delivery.

  • +1

That still seems a bit pricey to me

  • $24.95 is better than the rrp of $39.95, lets see if it's better than the cheap as chips meal.

  • i'm stoked there's some RR deals again. has been annoying paying full price.

  • I wish they went back to the original tenders for the Rippa rolls :(

  • This is really annoying that they have made this delivery only as firstly they don't deliver to my area and secondly it works out more expensive than picking up. I don't understand why they do this.

    • How much is picking up.
It's $39.95 delivered for me normally.

      • probably not a bad deal for the whole chickens etc but the boxes are like $17 pickup. Apart from the lunch deals all their small meals tend not to be great value for $, like most other things nowadays though, buying in bulk is cheaper.

You can order it for delivery somewhere near the restaurant and then wait there for the driver. Ask if it is food for <your name> from red rooster, order number xyz. They'll give it to you.

      • good idea in theory but i'm sure they would need an actual street address & am i gonna just stand outside some random persons house? i would think a decent driver would want to hand it over to someone inside the residence not to some stranger on the street outside.

        • No, pick a store at a shopping centre or a workplace where people go in and out all the time.

          • -1

@CodeXD: so how the hell are they going to know who to hand the order to? or if i approach them i have to stuff around providing the proof of order for them to hand it over, meanwhile i risk getting covid standing around waiting for it, no thanks

            • @iluvpizza: Lolwut have you never ordered delivery before?

so how the hell are they going to know who to hand the order to? or if i approach them i have to stuff around providing the proof of order for them to hand it over

When you order, you'll get an email confirmation, with a tracking link so you can actually see when they are close. The email also has order number which is written on the bag. They'll also know the name of the person they are delivering to.

meanwhile i risk getting covid standing around waiting for it, no thanks

You can write a note saying that you're in car <brand/model> with <number plate> and they'll find you if parked on the street outside someone else's house within delivery distance of red rooster.

I've order food and had it sent to my workplace, when they were close I went downstairs and met up with them outside of the building. There's no way they knew if I worked there or not.

              • @CodeXD: Red rooster dosent even having tracking or a way to see past or current orders in the app or website it's garbage
