Played it and loved it all for a few weeks after launch. Multiplayer was pretty frustrating because there was a pretty big gap in scores for those that had figured out the meta and were good at the game and/or had a coordinated squad. Campaign (especially in VR) was great fun, played all the way through on normal and hardest difficulty.

For anyone with a PS5 and is wondering about performance: this game runs at ~4K/60fps in backwards compatibility mode, so the resolution and framerate is good, but for some reason they use some low-quality assets which makes certain things like parts of the UI look quite blurry/low-res. And the overall graphics quality is quite primitive, in many respects it looks like a game from 5-10 years ago. Gameplay is solid though, and for the price you should definitely go for it.

Posting this because I found it really difficult to get solid info about how this runs on PS5, and Backwards-Compatible.com still lists it as running at 1080p/60fps which is complete BS. The game got upgrades for the PS5/Xbox Series X a while back:

Sadly, still no 120Hz mode for PS5 even though it would totally be capable of that since the graphics are so simple.

    • Think it needs an actual PS5 port to get 120Hz, as the PS4 was limited to 60Hz, while the Xbox One could support 120Hz so backwards compatibility on XSX can go higher.

Low quality assets due to it being a VR game, so they want to keep frame rate insane high (90? on PSVR?)

Was a PS+ game for those not aware.

    • Prime gaming and Xbox gamepass too for PC version.

    • Thanks for that. Checked my library and it's there. Saved me a tenner.

I'm shit at this game, I can't fly for shit

    • Best played with a proper flight-stick with a separate throttle control lever.

      • Any recommendations?

      • Is it like the controls from Battlefront (2015) or more like Battlefront 2?

      • Are there any decent HOTAS for consoles? Can only find the little Thrustmaster thing and the Hori, which both seem rather janky compared to even the mainstream PC stuff.

Annoying that specialised controllers like these aren't cross compatible.

    • It's 3/4 as difficult as the originals it's born from.

  • Thanks got from Target
