I have narrowed it down to two fridges. Fisher & Paykel and LG.
While the LG is bigger and has instaview, from what I have read that Fisher & Paykel is more reliable.
What do people think and what fridge I should go for?

Ended up with the Mitsubishi multi drawer after a long search, only gripe with the Mitsubishi is that you need both main doors open to slide out the chiller drawer, other than that it is the best fridge I've used.
F&P - Didn't go for this due to a previous bad experience with F&P, in the East of Melbourne and needed a service, was told the closest service person lived in country Victoria and it would be a 3 month wait. External water spout is also prone to develop mold, had it in a fridge with a white spout so never wanted that feature again.
LG - Liked the fridge but lots of comments around that two top shelves in the instaview portion are warmer than would be expected in a normal fridge due to the enclosure and small opening facing the internal of the fridge to get cold air.
I would go for a Mitsubishi if it had a water dispenser but it only has ice. As FP i didn't know it was owned by Haier. So it looks like the LG instead.
This is reassuring.
I have been searching and landed on Mitsubishi Electric 564L LX Series French Door Fridge or Electrolux 609L Dark Stainless Steel French Door Fridge.
Ive had a Mitsubishi fridge that's lasted 13 years atm. Came with 5 years warranty.
how do you cross shop those two?
the LG is like 50% larger and 50% more expensive.
I'd buy neither as I wouldnt drop 5k on a fridge with a screen in the door, and i wouldnt buy an F&P
Agreed.
It's like they've been cherrypicked with no consideration for price or size.
Neither rate highly in my books. May as well get a Haier
Electrolux for me, then maybe westinghouse.
My current panasonic has been going for 10 years without issue.
Surely price isn't such a big factor when you're looking at $5,000 fridges. OP should just go for the larger one, or buy a cheap fridge to put in the garage for excess food and frozen stuff and just get the smaller one.
read that Fisher & Paykel is more reliable
Not any more. Haier ownership, Haier parts, Haier designs, F&P badge.
whoa, didnt know that….was planning to look up some F&P or Westinghouse fridges…might as well just search the Haier models now
Which fridge should i buy
You are always sub-zero. :P
I got the LG knock knock fridge. It is a cool party trick but the door in door design eats into your available space internally. If it doesnt exist, i feel internal space utilisation could be much more efficient.
Has to be one with a water dispenser. Don't get water from the tap like some sort of savage.
Have you heard of filter water or are you still living like a savage lol.
That would require me to open the fridge! For cold water? I won't hear of it!
What do people think of Westinghouse? https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/westinghouse-whe6170bb-60…
That's the same/similar to Electrolux - https://www.harveynorman.com.au/electrolux-609l-dark-stainle…. Owned by the same
I am debating between this and Mitsubishi Electric 564L LX Series French Door Fridge
What ever you do don't buy from HN. Dont forget Gerry was the one who campaigned for a GST on overseas goods.
i am considering Mitsubishi after reading good reviews for the brand - this one is newer model n comes with ice maker, its water compartment is well designed that it did not take place inside frdige area
it got bit more room inside compared with similar LG 664L model - Mitsubishi also have 4 shelves instead 3 compared to other brands.
also mitsubishi has better energy rating - 4 star 441kwh/yr
trying Mitsubishi fridge for first time, last was LG died after 10yrs use

That fridge has a 1L water tank, do you know if it's a hassle to refill it? How often would you have to do that? I'm also interested in this fridge but I've never had an ice maker like this.
it makes approx 3-4+ tray worth of ice.. i think more than sufficient
I got one of these at the end of last year via the samsung edu store
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/665984
had a previous Samsung with ice/water in the door, but much prefer the aesthetics of this with auto filling water jug internally.
Previous samsung was still fine after 7+ years, but wife wanted a french door style fridge.
For $2k (if they show back up again) it was a good deal
I thought Samsung had a bad rap when it comes to fridges they seem to get a lot of bad reviews.
They do, but they also sell a heap
My previous one was Samsung and was still working fine when I sold it, and replaced it with this one
Neither, get a Mitsubishi multi drawer ;)
