Kings Inflatable Stand up Paddle Board + Triple Action Pump $251.05 Delivered @ 4WD Supa Centre

120

Came across this after checking out paddle boards at Anaconda and BCF. There are a few reviews of this particular model on YouTube and seem pretty reliable even after a few months of use.

It is10% off once you add in cart.

You may it is only 10% but I think their normal price is pretty competitive to begin with.

If you are after the board only - it is $199.95 delivered. You can pick up and save $20 in shipping.

If you are after two boards with triple action pump, it is $430.15 delivered.

Looks to be $218 in ebay

    My bad, no pump.

  • Board with Single Action Pump is $201.55. Is it worth the extra $50 to upgrade to triple action pump?

    • +1

Yes! I've seen so many inflatable boards this summer looking like floppy noodles in the water because people either don't inflate them fully or can't with standard pump, takes about 10 minutes of solid effort to inflate with triple action pump.

      • Is there a quicker way?

      • Hmmm…their ad states 'just over a minute' to inflate. Interesting that your experience is 10 times that.

        • +1

          Its definitely not a minute.

Getting it to around 15psi takes solid non stop effort, and thats doing it properly on all 3 pump toggles from High volume low pressure, to high pressure low volume.

I almost cheaped out and got the single pump, glad i didn't

My brother has the triple action and i have two single actions. I can "get it up" in four and half minutes and prefer the feel of the single action.

      Let the innuendo begin :)

  • Maybe he is referring to a single pump? That only inflates on the way down so it would take about ten minutes. All the reviews from owners suggest to get triple action pump or electric air pump.

    • I have a 12v electric pump but it only outputs 16l/m and takes nearly 25mins to pump my board up.

ebay is $10 cheaper if you use code SPSAVER. Free Shipping as well.

  • If you are an eBay plus member and use code PLUSJAN5 it brings it down to $238.50 including postage.

I bought a SUP from 4WD and another from BCF. You can tell the 4WD one is cheaply made, just by leaving it in your boot on the way home, there is a really bad plastic chemical stench.

Also something to note, the 4WD one is all bare bones, no repair kit, no pump and the carry bag is already flimsy and about to rip. I don't get why they have a cheap "waterproof bag" for the board when it is going to be wet anyway and it is harder to air out. The BCF one came with a mesh one that was perfect for the occasion.

The fins for the 4WD one is all distorted, the triple action pump is made of cheap plastic.

I guess you get what you paid for.

    • Link to BCF one?

    • Came across this post while looking at SUPs. Good to hear a comparison between these two as kids recently tried after friends got one of the BCF ones. I've ordered a Kings one so will be interesting to see how they compare. Didn't want to spend $300+ yet so $188 for the Kings seemed ok but if they use it enough might end up getting a second one, maybe the BCF next time round. Mesh bag is a good idea, distorted fins doesn't sound good though. Waiting for stock to arrive at store so have to see what they are like then.

I didn't order a pump as I'm planning to use my Ozito inflator, just need to print up an adaptor for the high volume and buy or print another for the high pressure side. Think that will work ok?

      • Good luck - I had to return mine which was a nightmare in the process alone, took 2 months, over 20 emails and 10 phone calls to get it refunded. Half the time I call, the person who is responsible for the case was "away from their desk" and the other attendant took my details down confirming there will be a call back, but never received one.

Hope you're not getting the one that I returned. Just keep an eye out on the board where the layers are stuck together, sometimes there is excess glue, and sometimes there are not enough glue, so be ready for it to come apart.

      • How did you go with the bunnings inflator? Did it work well?

        • Board was supposed to come in after a few weeks but was there after a couple of days, haven't made the high pressure adaptor (though have ordered one from China that ended up costing me 94c so if it arrives in a few weeks might not get around to it) but did print a high volume one I found on thingiverse.

For some reason the centre pin on the valve is longer than normal or something so I can't push the adaptor in to lock it and I ended up breaking the hook parts off it but did allow me to test it by holding in place and inflation was pretty quick, about a minute but still need to finish off with high pressure so not sure how long that part will take.

Once I take some measurements and edit the model to fit properly I think should be good.

        • Not an Ozito inflator, but the Ryobi equivalent - interesting video review. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3H6p1Eqwi3U

@ifonlyiwasyounger: Yeh thats the idea, but 33 minutes! Hoping it would be faster than that.
I got my board inflated much more than that with the high volume I think, but you need an adaptor to close the valve as you remove it, he probably lost half his air before he could manually close the valve. Trying to inflate the whole board with the high pressure side I expected would take that long unless you've got a bigger compressor, but I see another guy got similar results with a Dewalt and both high volume and pressure adaptors so I don't know.

That said, this guy did it in 3 and a half minutes from flat with a decent looking 12V compressor.

This is what I've got for the high volume, a few on there but this fits the 18mm hose on the Ozito.
There's also a few models for high pressure, was going to try this one as it just uses the valve from an old tube which I happen to have a bike with a big puncture waiting for a tube replacement.
The eBay one I got was here, had a $5 off voucher but who knows how long will take to get here. Hopefully it fits ok, but I'll probably give the 3d printed one a crack in the meantime.

    • I had a similar experience with distorted iSUP fins, and then I discovered this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNcTH8pZj4s

  • speaking of pumps, can anyone recommend the Kings portable compressor for use with this SUP, for us lazy buggers who dont want to use hand pump?
    https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/thumper-air-compressor-mkii…

    • The Thumper Air Compressor may not be suitable for the Kings SUP. Perhaps consider one of these available on ebay, for example: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/393451376992?hash=item5b9b879160…

      • Do those 12v pumps really take about 10mins? I have the triple action pump and it usually takes me about 5 mins. The kids board takes me about half the time.

It’s very easy and fast to get up to about 8psi. Then that last half to 15psi is the killer.
