Makes me happy more peeps can enjoy these amazing games. They are amazing. I reckon anyway.

    • +1

I've been keen to play the new Hitman games since they rebooted, but the subscription/episodic model has just been so damn confusing, as someone whose very valule/bargain oriented I couldn't work out where to start! Especially when they were broken across epic exclusivity for a while and i only like to keep things on steam (or gog)

I still have a few weeks left of my 3 months for 1 dollar xbox subscription, so seems like the perfect chance to finally give them a go.

      • +2

        but the subscription/episodic model

Hasn't been a thing since the "first" game.

        • -1

Are you for real? Maybe they weren't episodic, but it's been damn confusing. Like, to a silly degree. It also stopped me from buying.

          • +1

@Sxio: It isn't actually as confusing as you think it is. Each 'episode' was just a map, a large map with a ton of objectives. What's confusing are the 50 different bundles you can buy.

  • +14

Makes me happy that the third game is no longer an epic exclusive. That alone meant i was never gonna get it otherwise

  • +4

Gotta love gamers luck, just when we finally started getting amazing services in the past couple of years like Game Pass and Free Games from the Epic Store and Prime, videocards skyrocketed in price and went out of stock almost worldwide due to mining and scalpers.

    • +3

I got an Xbox to get me through until my next GPU. Not that a new Series X is exactly easy to find.

      • -3

I would have switched to one of the two consoles too if they officially supported mouse and keyboard. Big miss on their part when they released this generation, I thought surely at least Microsoft would have done it with the Series X. Then again is it a big miss if they're running out of stock regardless lol

        • +6

The series X does officially support mouse and keyboard, it's up to developers to implement it. Halo infinite supports it, there is a list of all games here:

        • +3

Xbox has had m&k support for a few years now. https://youtu.be/MCGAx_3_KSE

Problem is (lack of) support from developers.

This site has too many ads, but seems up to date. Https://xboxkbm.herokuapp.com/

        • +1

I can use mouse and keyboard on Call of Duty MW on Xbox. Doom Eternal is the only game that I really miss that option with. My GTX 1070 still runs the game ok at 1440p though, so no biggie.

    • -8

Dont see the difference between scalpers and epic buying exclusives tbh, both scum making PC gaming worse.

      • -1

Scalpers give away a free game every 2 weeks?

      • I upvoted and I willl call a couple more friends over to give you more up votes because people a terriable.

      • +2

Yes because Steam are basically a charity who always made games as affordable as possible right?

        • Steam are not…
However the steam client is a million miles ahead of the epic launcher, which really… is just a launcher.

The expanded social experience and achievements, large screen UI, myriad of controller support and the steam link and client really make it worth buying on steam.

  • +2

OMG YES, been waiting for Hitman 3's price to drop, now i can enjoy it on my 3 month, $1 per month game pass sub :D

  • +4

Who needs Xmas when there's gamepass…
    Keeps on giving.

  • +1

Huge, especially with the 2022 roadmap announced this morning.

    • Could you please link the roadmap? Tried Googling without any luck.

Excited for Hitman: Freelancer and the new map.

        • Thanks! I thought you meant a roadmap for Game Pass for some reason haha.

Freelancer looks cool, I could see roguelike mechanics working well.

  • +1

This is awesome, was gonna buy on steam to try out in vr but now I don't have to!

  • +3

These games are so damn big, I downloaded Hitman 3 a while back on the XSX and it was 70gb, played it for an hour or two over a month and then removed it for something else.

I'm glad they're on Game Pass now so I can stream them. If you've not already, definitely give xCloud a shot, it runs way better than it has any right to. It's a great way to jump into games you wanna play for 5/10 but don't want to wait hours for the download, like the other day, played a couple rounds of Injustice 2, first time in a few years, and then quit, no need to wait on the download. So cool how it works on the last gen consoles too.

Where's that Phil Spencer, I might give him a cheeky lil hug.

    • is xcloud included in game pass?

      • +2

On Game Pass Ultimate it is.

    • Just did a quick google search and am I right to say that I can't use xcloud currently on the xbox series x? Currently, it only exists on PC?

      • +1

X cloud can be used on Series X

        • ah thanks! will look into it

      • +1

idk a thing about PC, but I know it works on my phone, Series X and S, as well as the old Xbox One S in the kiddo's room. All the consoles have pretty comparable performance so if you're rockin' an Xbone, it's pretty good times as far as streaming goes.

    • +4

Hitman 3 is the largest because it also adds the levels from 1 & 2 into the 3 sandbox.

      • So do you only need to play 3 in that case? Or are other parts missing?

        • +3

          Only need 3.

        • Yeah, just go with 3. Start with the training mission, then move to France and follow the story. Don't rush through the game, enjoy it. There are so many different ways to do missions, I often went right back into one i'd completed to do it differently.

    • +2

Where abouts are you located if you don’t mind me asking mate? I haven’t tried xCloud in a little while but being in Perth the last time I tried it I was fairly sure I was connecting to the servers on the East Coast, it wasn’t bad but the input delay was quite noticeable so made things hard. A server here in Perth would be a game changer for me, GeForce Now runs from a data centre around the corner for me and is flawless for the most part

      • +1

        Sorry man, forgot to reply.

I'm in Croydon/Ringwood, about 40 odd k's out of Melbourne.

The reason it impressed me so much though was I'm doing it via a hotspotted phone, on the Felix unlimited plan, that is speed limited to 20mb/s max, and is also hooked up to my laptop and some other stuff (as well as the phone itself) at the same time. If you had proper home internet, I'd imagine the performance could be even better.

    • -7

6 people were butt hurt from this comment apparently.

      • -4

        make that 8 people.

  • +3

    Wow this is fantastic!

    • +2

Lol get negged for liking this?
Whatever… for those that haven’t played Hitman definitely give it a try. I’ve been close to buying Hitman 3 but glad I waited.

      • yeah people are just weird lol. I put a plus on on upvoted for ya though.

  • +2

I had so much fun with this trilogy, bloody OUTSTANDING games!

If you have gamepass and haven't played them, you're in for a hell of a treat!

    "Welcome to Sapienza, Agent 47…"

  • +1

Anyone played the VR mode in Hitman 3? Is it any good?

    • +2

Up until the 20th, Hitman 3 VR was only available on PS4/PSVR. From the 20th onwards, it will be available via SteamVR, but I'm not sure if it is included in the PC Game Pass Version.

    • +1

Impressions from PSVR were very good, with drawbacks being that it only used a single 6DOF controller and had necessary optimisations for PS4 VR like severely reduced draw distances. The first of those is confirmed fixed on PC — hopefully the second too.

    • +1

Unfortunately it seems they ported the PSVR version too directly and it assumes seated or stationary play. Physical crouching, physical movement, and most importantly physical turning are all unsupported. Hope they listen to feedback and patch it.

      • +1

Geez, that sounds terrible. Pretty disappointing. I feel like the Hitman games would be perfect for VR. Maybe we will have to wait for an indie dev to take a swing at that kind of game, designed from the ground up for VR.

        • Their known issues page says they’re looking into “improving the PC VR experience”, so maybe they’ll get it fixed up eventually. Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners and No Man’s Sky had some similar issues on release that were later patched.

    • I have seen absolutely zero reviews from online and friends that the VR mode is good on PC. It's half baked and frankly, shit.

  • Purchased Hitman 2: Gold edition on Xbox during a sale in April last year (under $21). Became addicted and then an opportunity came up months later to buy Hitman 3 on pc, which I gladly did. And not long after that I decided to get Hitman 3 on Xbox as well, addictive game - love the many ways to tackle each mission.

    • These games are amazing, if you choose to play them for the first time my advice would be not to rush straight through every level. Take your time. The replay value is insane.

Edit: sorry for accidentally replying to your comment I’m very tired

  • +5

PCVR for all 3 games too!

    • +2

It hasn’t been specifically confirmed that the GamePass version will support VR but I don’t see why it shouldn’t. Several other games with optional VR support work on GamePass (sometimes with minor awkwardness). There are a few that don’t, though (Myst, etc.)

Edit: Apparently IOI has confirmed VR support on “every PC store”, which should mean the MS Store, which should mean GamePass.

  • +4

Damn, bought 3 during the Epic sale, haven't even played it yet :(

  • Hitman understands.

  • +1

Enjoyed the older games more than the recent ones; Hitman Absolution and these ones I feel hold your hand a little much. Blood Money was fun, one of the better games in the series IMO.

    • These games let you tailor how much guidance you get. So if you think its too hand holdy then you're just relying on those settings too much.

  • Game Pass seem to get better free games than PlayStation

    • Quite a few major games are added on release, even. It’s an intentional tactic to build a userbase similar to Epic’s free games — can’t be profitable for now.

  • Don’t see it on game pass yet…

    • Came here to say the same. Not even in coming up

    • +1

Most likely January 20 US Time, so should appear later.

      • @JMxoxo and @Cisco123 - It's available now. I'm downloading currently.

  • Looking forward to playing them. Do they have to be played in order? I am wondering if the 3rd is much better than the 1st etc?

    • You don’t need to play them in order but I’ve seen quite a few people say they preferred the missions from 1 and 2 compared to 3.

  • +1

Season one is the best when they are still with SE, the last train stage of Hitman 3 is a pure rubbish.

    • +1

I agree, there was so much potential for a train stage like that though.

In Hitman 3 I was able to rush through the whole game on professional difficulty without needing to restart, map design and AI are terrible.

  • Had to buy a new SSD to fit all these games

  • Please don't treat this as a dumb question as I'm a newbie to the PC gaming world having just bought a new laptop. The laptop comes with a one month free XBox PC Game Pass trial subscription. Am I only able to play these games while I'm subscribed to the Game Pass vs being able to download and own them outright? If I have to pay to own them, is Xbox the best option to buy the Hitman trilogy or is it available elsewhere for less?

    • +1

      To answer the first part:

You can only play the game while having an active subscription. Just as a heads up, you can get 3 years worth of xbox game pass ultimate for around ~$130AUD. If you search on ozbargain for xbox game pass, you'll be able to find all the details on how to do it :). I did it once I got my hands on an xbox series x and use it actively.

      • Thanks!

  • Is it worthwhile to get Xbox game ultimate pass if I only have PC?
