Can anyone suggest a good fridge with ice and water dispenser? I live in rental apartment so i cant get it plumbed. I was looking at https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/samsung-616l-family-hub-refri…
But i have heard some horror stories on the Samsung fridges.
Best Ice and Water Dispenser Fridge Non Plumbed

We have this and the water dispenser stopped working about 3 days in. Never bothered to get it fixed as we have a separate water filter anyway and the ice still works. I'm guessing water froze in the water pipe maybe.
My biggest gripe with this fridge though is the two vertical halves fridge/freezer makes the space more challenging to use well. It's different to French doors where over all doors are open you still have full width shelves.
Not a Samsung gripe but you should have a think about whether this is a trade-off you're willing to accept.
Just get the plumber to line the tiny little water tube (and it is tiny) along the edge of the cabinet floor etc and run it under the sink. Just do a tiny job so you don't kick it etc. You could probably do that yourself tube wise and then get the plumber to connect it.
That would be a very good option as i wouldn't have to modify anything.
Looking at Electrolux as it has had good reviews https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/electrolux-609l-french-door-r…
We just bought Fisher& Paykel RF610ADUX5, $2399 at Bing Lee recent boxing Day sale. The smaller version RF522 rates pretty high on choice.
Plumbing wise, I bought some 3 way Tee and hoses to join up the water filter. You can do it yourself if you're keen and does not require a plumber. So far so good and really nice fridge and water is great. Ice maker is a bit slow but you can turn it off
