If you want to split lots of wood, get this one, I used it for years

        https://www.bunnings.com.au/fiskars-x25-xl-splitting-axe_p33…

I was skeptical, had been using an old school heavy one like the Trojan you linked to for years but got the Fiskar on a recommendation, it's so light it's awesome (why I was skeptical) , but it does the work and because its lighter you don't tire, do a few hours easily. Id split a season worth across 3 or 4 days

          Cool videos - dramatic music!!

        • Hard to beat Fiskars, they're great (I've got a couple).

        • I think the Wilora Axe would struggle with hardwood like yellow box, Fiskars X25 looks pretty fancy, will buy one this coming season and give it a try.

        • Comes with a plastic stealth for easy carrying and storage

          hmmm ninja axe ?

        • Have the Fiskars axe but their maul is unstoppable. Not sure why Bunnings no longer sell it. https://www.fiskars.com.au/products/hardware/striking-tools/…

        • I’ve got one of these too, great axe! I split lots of wood being rural. I recently found a couple of old splitter heads in my shed so I’ve been using them instead lately, but the X25 / X27 is hard to beat. Mine has stayed sharp for ages (good hard steel).

    Is this good against Urak-hai?

  • hate to axe difficult questions but…
what's the diff between splitting axes and felling axes ?
    interchangeable ?

    • +3

Splitting axe has a wedge profile to drive apart wood. Felling axe is for slicing into tree, razor sharp, broader head and thinner.

      • This. Also standard axes tend to get stuck in the wood you’re splitting whereas splitters don’t. And splitters are a fair bit heavier and bulkier.

  • Do they have them in fully red?
