    Its interesting that Mad Mex was started in 2006 as most of the Mexican Food in Australia was mostly crap according the the founder of Mad Mex.

    I must have an unpopular opinion, I think our Mexican take-outs are top tier. Compared to Maccas, Red Rooster, Hungry Jacks etc… So worth the extra gold coins.

    On that note, did not rate Taco Bell at all.

    I love Guzman which is quite good but do not like Mad Mex and it is overpriced compared to Guzman.

    I did live in LA where I had plenty of Mexican food from the trucks.

        You can get burritos and bowls for $9.90 on the Guzman app while Mad Mex is ~$13.

          @Commenter: Mad mex has bad heaps of top notch deals but Guzman 9.90 for months now has been convenient.

    I think "absolute" is a bit harsh, but no, Mexican food just doesn't seem to get done well abroad, but compared to a lot of places I've been, you're not doing horribly here in Oz with GyG, factoring in the takeaway convenience. Of course I'm partial to my SoCal Mexican and you can miss me with that Tex-Mex.

    Yes, although Guzman is at least edible. Taco Bell was always a cheap Mexican experience in US and that made it alright but it's a tad expensive here for what you get.

    Home made tastes best. Mad Mex tastes worst.

      didn't find guzman edible. ordered taco bill the other day and it wasn't bad, surprizingly. but you're absolutely right about home made being best. it's unbelievable that something so cheap and easy can't be duplicated by the so-called professionals and that the prices are so high. smh

  Mad mex has been hit and miss for me, sometimes it's delicious sometimes is a watery mess with sauce water pouring out the bottom

  Avoid the one that just opened up at Hornsby Westfield, I tried once and never again, portion sizes were tiny. While looking up google reviews after the fact, it seems that the franchisee apparently has very low hygiene standards

  Also, their reviews on Google are very polarising; you see lots of 5 star reviews from new accounts but most of the local guides and older accounts give them 1 star. Very suss
