For running Saucony Kinvara, have had at least 10-15 pairs over the years. All about fit, Looks not important. I haven't liked the recent models as they seem to have got bulkier so buy the old ones off USA ebay.

For walking / casual have had a few from the Merrell barefoot range in black, which are still my favorites

  • Adidas X9000L4

  • Reebook Forever Floatride Energy 2. I have four pairs and they put ASICS GT 2000's to shame.

Comfort/support: 10/10 (medium-firm TPU midsole, full carbon rubber outsole, no-frills upper, relatively lightweight. Here's a related review by Solereview https://www.solereview.com/reebok-forever-floatride-energy-r…)

    Aesthetics: 6.5/10. Retro.

    Price: 10/10 ($48 a pair after discounts)

    • Where and how do you get them so cheap?

      • +1

During random points last year, Reebok had clearance stock for $65 then I stacked 25-30% codes and also cashback. Sold out now.

  • New Balance Walkers. I had the velcro ones, as I use an insert with a very high arch and much simpler to cinch down.

They changed it later and the new model's tongue wasn't even wide enough to cinch it down properly.

NB ruined a perfectly good shoe which had insanely high ratings? WTaF?

  • For hiking/bushwalking: Merrell Moab 2 GTX Leather Mid Hiking Boots
I've owned these boots for over 3 years now and they are holding up really well! Worn on many hikes and bushwalks when we did a lap of Australia in our caravan a couple of years ago. And wearing them now as we are exploring NSW these holidays! The boots are sturdy, great grip, comfortable 10/10 :)

For running: Mizuno Wave Shadow 4
Have owned these for only 6 months. I like a neutral running shoe as a midfoot striker . Great shoe, but too early to say If I love them. 8/10

  • Under armour bandit 3. My feet love them

  • asics noosa tri 25th

You need to post more details about your requirements. and intended use.

If you want the softest and most cushioned running shoe, then your want to look at the Nike Zoom X Invincible.

    https://www.nike.com/au/t/zoomx-invincible-run-flyknit-road-…

    https://www.solereview.com/nike-zoomx-invincible-run-flyknit…

Some of the suggestions above are ridiculous .. Nike Free Run, Asics Noosa Tri, Adidas UltraBoost, Asics, Kayano .. wtf .. comfortable for a specific purpose but nothing close to the most comfortable.

he said name your most comfortable shoe… thats what we're all doing…
as someone who needed to be on my feet all day i gave best pair of shoes ive worn day to day

      • -2

+1 … Nike ROMALEOS 3xd are the most comfortable shoes that I have worn.

Nike Metcon 6 are a close second.

  • Brooks Beast

  • Long run - NB 1080 or Hoka Clifton
    Speedwork - Saucony Kinvara
    Race day - Nike Vaporfly
    Walking - Adidas Ultraboost

  • For hiking: Brasher Supalite Active GTX

For walking/running: ASICS Gel Nimbus 23

  • My Rm williams comfort craftsman does me well for casual walking. They are super comfy when they break in. I don't think I could do long walks with this as it doesn't breathe as well as proper walking running shoes. However I find it more comfortable than something like my lacoste ortholite.
For runners my current one is a Asics but found the mizuno wave to be the best runner shoe I have bought

  • I'd say I'm still looking but mix it up a bit.

Had nike Pegasus 36 which I loved and retired from running to my walking shoes untild shagged.
Now use an old NB vazee rush for walking.
For running I use an ASICS gt220 for most running otherwise a lighter shoe for shorter stuff on pavement, and for trail love my Salomon speedcross.

SOM shoes. Barefoot type, but ultra durable sole. I been wearing these for years and easily the best barefoot type of shoe. Made in Colorado too, as there alot of crap made in sweatshops that last only a year or so.

Nike free 7.0. I bought 2 pairs from a seller in USA YEARS ago. I still have and use them! Only problem at the moment is some of the little inset pieces in the sole are falling off, but that is ok, as these days I just do indoor gym workouts at home. Love the fact they are soft and loose around the ankles. I HATE restrictive or rigid shoes around my ankles. That might be bad for outdoor running (as in possible rolling an ankle etc in rough terrain)

Salomon is the best. My wife also agrees.

  • Not a lot if love here for Dunlop kt26. Lol

  • +1

Nike Air Max from the 90s.

  • Aldi shoes 20$ a pair.

  • Lacoste, canvas/leather, can't remember the name, that pair last me a good 2year + with load of Japan trip in rain. Very durable and comfortable, I have never find another similar pair like that one.

  • I am a serious runner and have gone through many pairs of shoes each year. My 'best' or favourite pair I would say is based more on a versatility perspective. Any shoes I have bought have been comfortable enough to run in. Those that weren't, I made sure to return prior to wearing outside. That said, the shoes I pick as the most versatile, or best pair I have ever owned would be the Original New Balance Zante (First Version). There was no bells and whistles about them. They were simple (a slab of eva foam), minimalistic, lightweight but cushioned enough to run a variety of distances. I used them more than any other shoe as they could double up as a race day shoe, lightweight trainer or be used on a long run. Sadly, I didn't like the subsequent versions as much as the original but continued to wear them until they were discontinued.

  • Hush puppies Chelsea boots when sold for $27 on OzB

  • Adidas Prophere - travelled the world with this pair and just astonished at how well they have kept up. I just have easily clocked over 1000km in steps on them. Extremely comfortable, all weather, all terrain shoes that have just done wonders for me. Others might disagree, but I guess this is subjective response.

  • Asics sportstyle quantum 360.

I could probably name 5 other Asics shoes that I've had in the past, but I absolutely love these shoes currently.

  • +1

Honestly, I bought some Adidas Ultraboost Knits for my holiday in Europe, and I had little issues walking around.

Best thing I ever did for walking while traveling!

I don't run, so hard to say for that.

Alot of factors tho, someone who is 60kg vs 100kg may get different comfort from different shoes.

Maybe we need a Poll! There's alot of recommendations!

  • +1

Socks are also part of the equation

  • Nike ROMALEOS 3xd .. are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn!

  • Steel Blue Enforcer boots. Ankle cutout so you get the mobility of a sneaker with the form and support of a boot. Comfy AF from the moment you put them on. No Steel toe so no worries at the airport. I'm on my 4th pair after wearing them daily since 2013ish.

  • Salomon XT6

  • +1

    saucony endorphin speed

  • New balance 880s would be my pick for a running shoe. I've literally run marathons on those puppies.

For a mix of run/nice looking the New Balance Made in USA/UK would be my pick for comfort and fashion. They're all pretty good, you can find them on sale sometimes but the sneakers heads have started picking them up too.

  • Merell Trail Glove - once they pack in I'll have to look at other barefoot style shoes!

    • Are you on version 6? Reviews weren't too kind to it

      • v5

        • thanks - are these still for sale? been looking for a pair but seems to be fully sold out

          • @dajackal: Some places might have some old stock but at this stage it will be difficult - I got mine maybe a year ago?

  • Vibram Five Fingers. Feels like wearing nothing at all.

  • kayano

  • Reeboks, they were super light and comfy, yet had a thick sole. Don't know the model because it was about 15 years ago. Nothing else has compared.

These with an orthotic for work. Have them in black.

  • I've tried lots. For me Saucony Triumph was the most comfortable for jogging. I use them for walking once they're worn out.

  • I've been doing a lot of bushwalks in a pair of Timberland Maddsens.
The unique thing is that they use the same kind of sole design on a bunch of different shoes, so I've had very similar comfort in formal leather boots, and smart casual canvas sneakers. Basically the same feeling when hiking, going to work, and hanging out on the weekend.

Not to say they are identical though. The Maddsens have a nicer cushioned insole, the canvas had a soft foam sole that wore out quick, and the boots were snug and solid.

    Adidas ax1

  • I love Asics Nimbus

  • Adidas ultraboost DNA 5.0.
I had never been into Adidas but when the ultraboost 20s were released I thought I'd try a pair for shhts and giggles and omg. I felt like Cinderella.
I now only buy runners with boost and the UB5.0 DNA are even more comfortable than the ub20s.
