Should I get this card or a RX 6600 non-XT variant (with a backplate)? Because I looked online, this doesn't have a backplate so I worry that might affect thermal.
Thermal advantages of a back plate are negligible at best, they exist mostly to prevent sag on larger cards and to a lesser extent for cosmetic effect.
