Not everyone lives in NSW. Completely legal in my state.

      • Illegal in VIC.

        Where are you?

        • I live in TAS where it was legalised weeks ago. It would seem VIC are having trials with Neuron already in Ballarat. There's similar programs in NSW/SA with Beam and Neuron.

They're also legal in QLD, ACT, WA and NT.

    • I feel bad for you, son

    • I see these all the time in sydney, I wonder how harsh does police check on these

      • Most police aren't enforcing the rules due to so many people riding them.

        • -1

The police also are not enforcing Covid checks at the borders. Had 10 freinds go to QLD and not a single check.

          • @easternculture: They're like Melbourne Airport then. Of all the airports I've gone through this year they were the worst. The only difference between now and pre-covid is that people are wearing masks. Nothing else.

  • How does this compare to the Segway Ninebot G30 & G30 Global edition apart from the Segway having the longer travel distance in 65km

    • Ninebot comes with 10" tyres also.

For the same $$ i'd choose the Ninebot G30 but i got my Pro 2 for $600 from this deal

      • Yer if it was half the price then it would be better

        • Exactly, i ended up modding my Pro2 anyway, another difference is the Ninebot is slightly heavier (presumably larger battery cell) & the handlebar height is slightly higher, which i'd prefer personally.

In essence, comes down to $$ really..

          • +1

@Bunsen: Yer at this price I’ll think more about the Ninebot but at the price you got it for which is half the price, that’s the better option then

  • Hand delivered by Lewis Hamilton with either Harry Potter or Ron Weasley supporting….. Depending on who is on shift.

    • Again not everyone lives in Sydney. I was riding behind cops last night on the road… no fine because it's legal.

  • Hopefully they start swapping these onto a softer compound tyre to make them go quicker! 🤣

    • Otherwise I'll just have wait for the Honda Red Bull version.

Sydney People be aware, about 3 days ago, I saw 3 cops literally block the street and targetting people riding e scooters on Bathurst street on Sydney CBD.

    • Sucks to be in Sydney.

  • +1

Some poor bugger got a $2500 fine for riding a powered scooter in sydney just recently. Was on the current affairs. Got done for helmet, unregistered vehicle, no insurance and something else also. Harsh.

    • -1

Saw someone yesterday break into a house, strangle their cat, steal their heirlooms. Called the cops and she got put in the slammer. No bail, awaiting trial. Harsh

  • Anyone found any good deals on the normal Xiaomi scooter pro 2?

    • Regularly on sale for under 600. Keep an eye on eBay

  • "He was fined:
$352 for not wearing an approved helmet
$704 for driving an unregistered motor vehicle on the road.
$704 for unpaid tax and no registration
$704 for an uninsured motor vehicle."

    1. which helmet is approved?
    2. it is not that he intentionally did not register his 'motor vehicle'; it is because that 'motor vehicle' cannot be registered. there should be some differences, right?
    3. same as the 2nd argument.
    4. same as the 2nd argument.

He may be able to get away, if he can find a good lawyer (?). Sure, that will probably cost even more.

    Anyway, just my 2c.

    • It's a croc of $#!t for a toy electric scooter, but aproved helmet would have to meet AS/NZS1698 or equivalent international standards for road use. He would've probably just been wearing an AS/NZS2063 bicycle helmet. (Apparently bicycles can't do 25km/h and never fall on the road!!!)

  • Last deal was $799 with free speaker and head light worth $299. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/668121
They should have just listed it $500-599 as regular, not gonna pay for $200-250 for stickers or G30LP is obviously better option
