Any update re. 3070ti delivery? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/666615?

    • Mine was just built/shipped recently. So I think they have received some

    • +2

In Stock and Decembers have shipped bar a couple of Decembers in testing. The cards coming for the 3080 deal include 3070 Ti as well, which will cover the vast majority of Pre Order cards. Then any remaining are coming later in January.

      • +1

Any updates on my faulty 3070Ti system which I shipped back to you recently?
        Cheers.

        • +2

I'd need to be in the office and have order specifics for that one. The team will be back on Wednesday so if you pin [email protected] they'll reply asap.

          • @luketechfast: Legend, cheers.

          • @luketechfast: hey my order isnt going through and I want to get this black Friday deal any chance this will continue tomorrow?

    • Hi luketechfast, I purchase ryzen 5 rtx 3080 deal from you guys on 28th/dec, what is the estimated delivery on this, could you let me know please.
      Thanks

  • Which of these is best value for Money?

    • +1

      3060 ti for sure

      • yep. 3060Ti is the sweet spot

    • +9

imo the RTX3080 is very solid considering the CPU you get with it

      • +4

My wallet has loosened with how much I was expecting to pay

tempted to get the 3080 but would you reccomend any addons/upgrades from techfast?

        • +8

Personally I got the AMD 3070Ti deal from black Friday.

Paid for water cooling since installing water cooling is kind of annoying so not a bad price when you consider labour. Plus wasn't sure what CPU fan they would give me. (120mm All-In-One Liquid CPU Cooler [Minimum Recommend For Intensive Gaming Use])

I got the 32GB ram but was super hesitant as there are Ozbargain deals for 32GB ram for similar prices. I realised if I got 16GB I would have two random 2*8GB sticks which I could sell if I upgraded my ram but I couldn't really be bothered to sell them as I am quite busy with work at the moment so I just went with 32GB.(32GB [3200MHz] DDR4 RAM (2 x 16GB Modules))

Went with the WIFI motherboard because changing out a mobo is way more painful than ram and ssds. I just wanted to be able to connect to wifi and Bluetooth as soon as I got my PC and wanted to save the expansion space instead of filling it with a $100 PCIE network card. I'm personally not a fan of USB network adaptors. Plus the WIFI mobo probably has more expansions slots if I wanted to do anything in the future. (AMD X570 WiFi [ATX] Motherboard)

Got the (MSI MPG Gungnir 111R [ATX] Case) case because it looks the best IMO and it has a USB-c connector at the front.

Ended up buying an NVME 2TB SSD off Ozbargain which I'm going to put in the build when it comes + I get free windows from my Uni/Work.

Rtx 3080 says 10gb in description but 8gb in title?

    • +2

      Random, fixing thanks. It’s 10GB

      • also wrong in the Techfast Website order details - after I paid I noticed is shows as 8GB for the order I just placed. Thx for the comment. Clearly a typo

      • Is all the first allotment going to be gainward 3 fan 3080’s?

  • +1

Decent deal on the 3080 one..

  • +1

Any chance I can change my order? Kinda retarded and just ordered this deal like an hour ago. Doubt I can but worth asking. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/670028

    • +3

We’re not in the office until Wednesday but if you can buy the one you want your previous order can be refunded then. Otherwise if you PM me I can take a look

    • +21

      Shoutout luke, cancelled it!

  • Any deals on a cheap home PC for the oldies? They think laptops are too cutting edge - that kind of PC.

    • +4

Not really the supply or pricing for home PCs sorry

      • Cheers, and thanks for the quick response.

    • +2

i've ordered 2x desktops from PCCG yesterday that i'm building up to be office PCs, $680ea for ryzen 5600g, 16gb ram, b550 mobo, case, 650w psu and 250gb nvme ssd… if you're in a DIY mood there's some pretty reasonable deals to be had…

you could save some cash going for an intel build (10th or 11th gen i3/i5) and 8gb of ram, i had requirements to run dual 1440p monitors which you may not have, i also wanted them specced to last 5+ years and be windows 11 ready (which is why i didn't go down the path of the fusetech refurbished dell optiplex deals)

    • +9

Grab a second hand Dell Optiplex on eBay

    • +1

Momo just released an office desktop deal. It's on ozbargain

  • Any chance of adding the cpu upgrade options on the 3060 ti deal

    • +2

      i7 10700F?

      • Yes like available on the 3070 deal or 11700

      • Interested in this modification (i7~) to the 3060 ti deal as well.

    • Added 10700F

  • -4

new 3080s 3070ti and 3090ti will be released late jan/ feb

  • Quite a good deal, but PSU has no brand? Not Gigabyte hopefully? Anyway even if it is, just immediately swap the PSU, still a decent deal

    • Can you confirm the brand @luke

      • I feel like they use different brands for different builds

    • +6

We use both MSI and Gigabyte. Gigabyte have 100% rectified the previous issues by altering the design. This teardown video shows maximum stress load on a new unit and analysis of the changed PCB to fix the issue. We are using the new stock.

      • Thanks for sharing this, there's too many people refusing to buy gigabyte product because of faults on 1 line of their products.

        • +1

It was a big one but they acted and fixed, can’t ask more than that really

  • Newbie question, is it possible/meaningful to compare the specs on this 3060 Ti PC with the specs on a gaming laptop, e.g. this current Acer Nitro 5 deal for $1198? From what I can tell the laptop has a better processor and comes with Windows 10 and wifi, but the desktop PC has better GPU memory and 8GB more RAM. Is there something I'm missing that justifies the extra $350+delivery for the desktop? I thought laptops are generally pricier than their desktop counterparts.

    • +5

Laptop's generally will not perform as well as the equivalent desktop as it is simply impossible to shift that amount of heat in such a tiny enclosure. Not denying the $1200 acer is a great deal, but the 3060 in it will be no where near as fast as the 3060 ti in the desktop.

    • Laptops have mobile version of GPUs which aren’t as powerful as desktop versions. It also has different RAM, not sure how performance compares tho.

      • thermal issue aside.

This generation full power laptop 3060 is actually better than desktop 3060.

    • Ahh that makes sense. Thanks for the replies!

  • +1

Yep. As what @twisti said. Desktops can run components at a higher voltage than laptops. Therefore you can squeeze alot more power in them. The Acer laptop is no where as powerful as the 3060ti desktop. I think in games, FPS increase is nearly doubled

    • Learning something new every day. Thanks! :)

  • What do people recommend for upgrades?
    Interested in 3070

  • +1

Hi Luke, will there be an entry level gaming pc sale?

    • No stock or pricing for entry level deals sorry!

  • Hi Luke, whats the brand and model for x570 upgrade option?

    • +1

Brand/model may vary. Previously we have used MSI X570-A Pro and Giga X570 UD mostly for X570, X570 has been Giga Aorus Elite WiFi, MSI Tomahawk, Asrock Steel Legend.

  • Is a Ryzen 5 5600x still good nowadays?

    • Yes

  • i'm not even mad. that's impressive.

    • Why would you be mad

  • silly question but can I hook something like this up to my x1 carbon or Lenovo Yoga carbon and use that as the monitor instead of buying a monitor?

I just need something to connect to my VR quest 2.

Was considering this or Legion 5 Pro with 3070

    • anyone know? ready to purchase this or Legion 5 pro

    • +1

I feel like there is desktop mirroring software and might able to do it over wifi

idk about a direct cable link though

    • +1

You could use your TV as a monitor?

    • If you’re planning to use your Oculus Quest with it over the Oculus Link Cable, make sure you choose the upgraded motherboard (if you chose the 3080 PC) as the default motherboard didn’t have USB-C.

If you chose the other options then google the motherboard to make sure it has USB-C on the back panel.

      • Thanks mate probably will use virtual desktop wifi with steam

  • 3070 deal website description says it comes with 500GB m.2 NVMe SSD but the selection only have 240gb?

    • Fixed thank you

      • Hi Luke,

Ordered the 3070 deal, wondering if you have a eta for when it's ship?

        Thanks

        • Thanks for your order. They’ll go into build after th public holidays onwards.

  • Hi Luke, Just wondering when the 5600G-3060-DEC deals will ship? Friend of mine ordered on Wed (22nd Dec) and he's keen as punch :) Thanks mate.

    • When we resume in the days between Xmas and New Year, and then back on the 4th Jan.

      • Awesome. Cheers!

  • Hey mate, I am looking into buying two of RTX 3080 gaming pc for work but the coupon code is not working for two computers I added in my cart. It is showing $4,976.
I am using a company card so I prefer one $4776 transaction rather than two $2388 transactions.
Also I don't want to pay shipping twice either haha
Could you please help me out?

    • +1

Nothing I can do on shipping as we can't combine such large items so have to be shipped separately and therefore incur two postage fees. Promo code wise we can refund the $200 coupon amount post purchase, unfortunately they don't stack for multiple items in 1 cart.

      • Thanks for the clarification mate. How would you refund the $200? I am about to put the order through

        • +1

Direct back to the CC via our payment gateway. PM me the details when done,

          • @luketechfast: Hey mate, I just ordered. Unfortunately I just made Ozbargain account today so I am not able to send you a pm. This is my order id: TF4741932631. Please proceed the refund of $200. By the way, I am currently using MSI Forge 100R case. Is the Lance V2 case any better? Thanks mate

            • @Gilbertimus: Refund is processed. I'd say the Lance-V is equivalent to the Forge, really only difference is the Lance-V2 now has 360mm front rad support whereas Forge supports 240mm.

              • @luketechfast: Is the Lance-V2 any easier to put additional hard drives, etc. in down the track?

I recall the V1 required excessive disassembly just to put an extra drive in

                • +1

@daffyd: Yep, the HDD bay now has two screws accessible from the bottom of the case. Unscrew those, remove the tray, screw the HDD in from each side, replace tray, replace screws.

  • +1

Probably sounds like a silly question but can you disable all those coloured lights on the fans?

    • +3

Yep via the RGB button on the case.

  • Any chance to combine 3070 deal with 12th gen i5 or i7? If not, eta on new processors?

    • Some time late in Jan I would say we’ll start to see them filter through

      • Keen for intel deals too, thanks luke. Likely any 3080 intels?

        • +1

Depends how these sell I’d say!

  • Should the 3080 build be a significant upgrade from rtx 2080 i7 7700? Thanks in advance.

    • A standard 2080 is slower than a 3060ti. The 3080 is about 20-30% faster than the 3060ti. Depending on the title. You could sell your 2080 system and then buy the 3080. You should be able to get around half the money for your current system depending on the components.

    • It's a solid upgrade but also depends what you're doing with it. If you are playing the latest AAA games and have a 4k screen or high frame rate 1440p then it will make the largest difference. For me the 3080 was overkill.

  • Whats the weight of - cannot find it on the website

    AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | RTX 3080 8GB Gaming Desktop PC.

    My guess is 2-5 kg?

Also whats the difference between motherboard selecting wifi
    -AMD X570 WiFi [ATX] Motherboard

    And then under networking
    -USB Wi-Fi Adapter

Do i need both for wifi ? or just 1

    • +1

You don't need both. Without one of them, you will have no wifi and only be able to connect via ethernet cable

So USB wifi adaptor is this thing that plugs into your PC via a USB port and allows you to use wifi https://www.google.com/search?q=usb+wifi+adapter&tbm=shop

The AMD X570 WiFi [ATX] Motherboard means that you will get a motherboard with wifi built-in.

Might want to compare the pros and cons via some reviews https://www.google.com/search?q=usb+adapter+vs+motherboard+w…

      • thank you kindly

    • The weight of the assembled is about 8-9kg with the gold PSU and GPU installed. shipping weight is about 12kg

      • thank you! just debating between this and legion 5 pro hah 3070.
