TennisOnly's Boxing Day sale. Some of the clearance racquets and items are pretty nicely discounted. Still not as good as last year's Black Friday sale, but some items are cheaper because their current price is lower.

Free delivery with $150 Order.

  • very annoying that balls aren't included

their sales have definitely gone downhill recently - used to have plenty of 20% offs but probably better now for their business model

    • Coming off a disappointing BF sale, I guess this is the best we can expect.

If you can use that many, TennisDirect is doing 4 boxes of Dunlop AO for $144 per box.

      • I have been playing with the Technifibres which are pretty good and last well even with solid hitting, but only tennisdirect sell those

        • The cheapest I've seen was when TD eBay store had 10% off + eBay's 20% off sale = one case of TF Courts for $132.38 shipped.

I like TF balls but I feel like they play way too fast fresh.

  • Yeah, I concur, their sales were ridiculous. I got Vcore racquets for $99 ea, when they retailed for around $280 or so, about 18 months ago.

BF 2020 was really good as well, you saved depending on how much you spent. The grips I bought have stayed at $63 for 30, but would've been around $45 on discount ea, had to pick them up for just the flat 15% off and be happy with that.

Good thing being a Kiwi is you avoid GST i.e. a % discount, but do have to pay flat shipping fee [i.e. incentivized to buy way more than you need], which is another discount as long as you spend enough.

    • Does TennisOnly ship balls to NZ?

Asking because I want to permanently move back one day and the thought of $25 per can balls at Rebel Sports NZ scares me :P

      • I actually haven't tried ordering balls before, but i did chuck it in the cart and go through a few steps in that just fine.

My friend would just order 100's of balls in a go [I talked to him earlier, he has 68 tennis racquets as of today, with the vast majority being top end ones bought in the last 1-3 yrs], and tennis was very much a 3rd/4th sport for me, I didn't bother sourcing my own balls.

  • @StrayfireX and anyone else who wants to answer, any shorts recommendations? I find that a lot of shorts I see in stores are quite flimsy and whenever I serve, the ball tends to come out of my pocket. Any recommendations on shorts that are not that flimsy but not too expensive?

    • Australia is pretty bad in terms of tennis shorts pricing. It's one of those things you need to be in store to buy. Otherwise buy overseas. I usually buy Tecnifibre sports gear from aplus tennis in Hong Kong. Very nice quality.

If balls tend to come out of your pocket you can always get a ball holder.
