  • 25m tuff hose looks reasonable value as well.

Never mind. Should have kept scrolling

    • Yes I was tempted until I read reviews.

      • connectors coming off is fixed easy enough, it’s the durability and anti- kink that is the bid deal vs what is on offer at bunnings or mitre 10.

    • +1

Mine is leaking water from both ends

  • I have one of these. It was replaced after 2 years (easy process) - full of kinks and cracks - it is left in the sun though. I think there are better options.

    • Not sure what better options there are…these are supposed to be the best available from what I've read.

The hose I've had for the last 20 years that was already at my house is still going strong.
        It never kinks.
Don't know the brand but they don't make them like that anymore.

  • Gonna wait for the compact reel again!

These are absolute junk. I brought 3 reels for a new house and will never buy another product from them. If I accidentally every leave pressure in the hose, the hoses expand at the fitting and eventually they pop out. I have had to cut the hose back maybe 10 times in 18 months just because they keep stretching.

    • Sounds like you're doing it wrong.

I plan to use normal connectors rather than any pressure ones.

I just want a hose that doesn't kink much and is UV happy.

      • Use the connectors that it comes with mate. Can't do that wrong lol. Get it, leave the pressure turned on come back in a couple of warm days and you will see.

          Turn the water off?

          • @freshofftheplane: 1 you shouldn't have to, 2 doesn't matter if you turn off the water or not if you don't release the pressure in the line which you also shouldn't have to. Other brand hoses I have from Bunnings haven't been a problem at all so take it or leave it, my experience is that these hoses are junk

        • Sounds like you have the valve connector stopping the downstream flow. The connector with the valve needs to be on the tap and empty connector other end.

  • Newbie here. Does it work with 12mm connectors available at bunnings? Good option to get the hose for it’s quality and use other durable fittings?

    • Get a hose which is rubbery and which you can easily squeeze, on the shelf in the shop. This will indicate how flexible it will be and resistant to coiling when you're actually using it. I found one hose only like that when i was in Bunnings on Sunday. Blue rubber looking hose if i remember correctly. The rest were plasticky things. I have had enough of those to just not take the risk that they won't be a pain to use.

The trick with the rubbery hoses is to store them under cover when not in use. Such as in an enclosed reel in the yard or, as I do, on a hose hook in the garage. Leaving then on the lawn and in the UV in summer used to make the rubber go a bit cacky after a few years.

I use brass fittings. Got Gardena fittings recently which seem good.

      • Thanks! Any idea if the gardenia fittings work with this(Hozelock)?

        • They are 12mm and hose is 12.5mm. I have the same question but willing to risk it. I'm sure it's the same hose, just 12.5 is coming from imperial.

        • I can't but think they would otherwise you won't be able to use any sprinklers, nozzles, find and so on other than Hozelock. The Hozelock hoses do already have fittings on the end but if they break you should be able to put other brands on.

  • Purchased two of these hoses and received a few days ago. The fittings/connectors are cheap junk and do not work. From here I can either return the hoses or look to buy new fittings. Can someone recommend a fitting brand that works well with Hozelock?

    • What exactly is with the connectors? I got mine too but haven't unpacked yet.

    • Use the valve connector at the tap and the empty connector at the hand end.
