Bowden's Own Mega Snow and Blow Pack $79 + Shipping / Pickup @ Repco

170

Seems like a good deal as its valued at $130. Snow cannon by itself is $100 normally.

Per Repcos website:

  • Combines the Snow Blow Cannon with 1L of Mega -Snow Job heavy-duty snow foam
  • Gives intense foam with extra cleaning oomph to cut through and loosen serious dirt and grime
  • Mega Snow Job is a subtly boosted alkaline snow foam for a nice lift in cleaning power
  • Mega Snow Job also contains anti-rust and salt removal ingredients
  • The Snow Blow Cannon is a top-quality unit, built tough to suit Aussie conditions
  • Includes 2 adapters for the popular Karcher and Stihl/Gerni pressure washers.

Enjoy!

      Is it discounted? No.

Yes? It says it was $130?

Im genuinely looking for something like this. Never used one before, and want to avoid scratching my paint with the coarser grit/dust my car gets coated with.

A justification more than "an expensive product is just a brand name on a cheap product" isn't super helpful.

      • -2

Buy it but its not discounted, its a bundle. All Bundles have inflated values. I have 2 of these but i also have 5 other foam cannons. They charge a premium for a standard product.

      Why the hate for Bowden?

    • +2

All reports are that this is the superior foam cannon. I got a cheap washer from Repco for Fathers day, the snow cannon on it is a POS and I have been waiting for this to come on sale.

RRP on the cannon appears to be $99, so the cannon and detergent seems like an OK deal at $79.

      • -2

Yes, all snow cannons on washers are bad unless its the big boi one which is just like the rest.

        • How do you rate the Big Boi pressure washers?

          • -1

@limeburner: It’s okay, nothing too special, any pressure washer with 1500 psi and 6-7 litres per minute will do. The big boi is an overpriced tool made for car enthusiasts just like Bowden’s. My dog blower cost me $100 works just as well if not better than the big boi $500 blower

          • @limeburner: I've got a Big Boi washer, and love it. It's very quiet. Just did the car yesterday with it. Cable can kink a bit, so be careful. I hear they don't warranty the cable. But the connections are all great quality, especially for the price.

Wow, did anyone else click on this deal thinking it was a snow making machine for the kids at Christmas 🤦🏻‍♀️

    • +2

Apparently if you pair it with J&J no more tears and a pressure washer it is actually pretty damn good for that.

    • Maybe…

$69 AT SUPERCHEAP - which is $67 more than I would pay, so if you come from the same genes as me, you may want to pick up the $2 sponge and bucket whilst there.

    • Also available at autobarn for the same price

I ended up going with the MJJC Foam Cannon Pro V2.0 (Karcher K3 version) for $80 instead.

    • Which retailer did you get it from? Or was it aliexpress?

      • +1

Through the MJJC website and used a discount code. 10-15% off I think.

DriveDetailed4Q82XSAW gives you 10% off. Unsure if that’s the one I used.

  • Anyone used this with Meguiar's polymer wash and wax they're selling at Costco these days? (Light blue colour)

    • wax doesnt help the foamer. currently on promotional price

Thoroughly recommend. Pressure hose car, spray with snow cannon. Enjoy a coffee and pop tarts while dirt drips off car. Hose off then dry with a Big Green Sucker. Quick and easy and looks awesome.

Pretty sure instructions say to snow foam the car dry

See this is the reason why I can't support bowden fans. @CL7. This guy just scratched his car up. Foaming a car does very little in removing anything. You need to agitate the foam or go over again with shampoo and a sponge or equivalent. The only thing he did quickly and easily is create scratches and microswirls.

      • Not sure why you are @'ing me - but you are making the assumption that the only reason people want these is for cars.

I have been watching for a canon to apply a weak bleach/soap mix for longer linger time when softwashing. I currently use a pump pack garden weed style sprayer - but that is hard yards for large amounts of siding. This will let me cover a lot more real estate quickly and not bone my pressure washer by putting bleach through the pump.

INB4 don't mix bleach with soap - you need to read the label and make sure you don't mix with anything that has ammonia if you like your lungs - you will get chloramines and that is bad™.

      • agreed. On Sunday I did a pre-wash (I use Autoglym stuff) with their Polar Blast, followed by a Polar Wash. It was a quick and dirty to try and lift some of the grime since my last wash (almost 2 months).

Yesterday I did a more thorough wash. Again, Polar Blast, and then TWO Polar Washes. The second Wash I agitated with a microfibre glove and used the 2 bucket method to ensure the cloth was always clean.
The colour of the water in the second bucket? Wow. So dirty. Again, after multiple washes, and multiple days only 2 days apart.

So on their own, snow foam does not clean your car. If you do it once a week, you might be able to keep a relatively clean car, but the foam always needs to be agitated to remove the main bits of dirt.

How environmentally friendly is this snow? Im guessing it would be frowned upon if i used this to wash my car on the street?.

    • -1

regardless how environmentally friendly, any run off that goes into stormwater drain is not allowed.

      • i let mine run off into the stormwater

        • -1

And no weird looks from neighbours?

          • @maiuspala: how are the neighbours relevant?

            • -1

@[Deactivated]: As I understand the legality of washing the car on the street is in a grey area (washing is ok, but chemicals in the stormwater are not). Some neighbours might have a problem with it.

      From the Bowden's website….

All Australian made and developed formula that's earth friendly and biodegradable.

If you email them, I'm sure they'll give you all the information you need. Their customer service is the best I've ever experienced.

I have one for my Bosch Easyaquatak that I bought via Ozbargain. It's excellent and does the job much better than the stock bosch canon. It's also quite big and lasts a long time.
