Other colours are 99 at JB hi-fi atm if you don't want blue

  • These any good? All the reviews at JB are "collected as part of a promotion" / from the Sony site so I trust them about as far as I can spit them

Meant to be great for bassheads. At the time I was looking into them, they were meant to be one of the best basshead options, with great sound quality. I would have bought a pair for $120 or whatever, if I had not already bought Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro and Sennheiser MTW (v1) for cheap already.

Kind of tempted to pick up a pair of these as well (clearly I'm a basshead!), but I think I'll give them a miss, and get something newer (eg, Liberty 3 Pro) rather than ANOTHER side-grade.

If they had been $90 instead of $120 back when I was looking at them, I probably would have bought them!

      • What’s a basshead¿

        • Someone who likes more bass.

"Audiophiles" tend to like a neutral/flat sound signature (nothing is emphasised), so audiophile gear tends to be more neutral. General consumers tend to prefer more emphasised bass, so consumer orientated gear tends to be more bass heavy.

Bassheads are people who want MORE bass than even most consumer gear provides. Well…it's all relative: to an audiophile, a general consumer is probably a basshead. But to a true basshead, there are levels to basshead-edness! :)

            Ok thanks,
Yes.. I’d consider myself both and audiophile and a basshead then.
Agree. It’s hard to find good bass headphones and earbuds.
For years I chose apple wired headphone spuds to lack of finding ones with bass that was better.

            I’m old school.
Avoided the mp3 garbage quality music, and had all my music in AAC format as couldn’t cope having it any less quality than that, but didn’t want to strap a technics record player to my back when jogging.

So happy to see people going back to good quality sounding music, and seeing the abortion of a headphone gimmick (like the original Dr Drey headphone) becoming less and less fashionable

  • These sound amazing. Call quality is also not bad. Their only drawback is they look huge and weird when worn like the Bose Soundsport true wireless
