Can someone recommend a sub $100 phone for the purposes of rooting where I can install a custom rom? Preferably brand new.

Thanks

Does the word "rooting" carry a sexual connotation that I don't know about? Lol.

^ This guy roots, or not, depending on whether username checks out.

Thought about clarifying the title, but the comments are fun so I'll not edit it

eBay… you sort of type in the name, lets say, android phone, and it magically comes up with a list of phone with that description. Even prices are displayed. You can chose to buy one or more if you like. It is called eBay.

Thanks for introducing me to eBay. You've changed my life.

Depends, what kind of rooting are you doing? Will it be on OnlyFans for example?

Not clear if you just want to root or you also want to install a custom rom.

But, assuming you want a custom rom, first decide which custom rom you want to install.

If you want a phone that is generally well supported, I'd suggest starting with officially supported Lineage OS phones:

    https://download.lineageos.org/

Most of these are not 'just released', though, since it takes time for someone to do the work.

If you just choose a random phone, chances are you won't be able to do the thing you want.

If you want a half decent phone new in box that's easy to install any rom on, it seems like you can get a Pixel 2XL off ebay for $150. I know, $50 over what you were looking for…
