Up to $20 cashback to eligible users

  • If I use Revolut to pay my Zip bill for $250 (via Apple Pay) - is that considered a "domestic purchase"?

    • want to know that too!

    • +1

last time I tried paying with my Revolut Card to ZIP pay, It locked up my ZIP account

  • +3

Might stack with the 10% back on food

Unfortunately that offer expired yesterday, 16th Dec 2021

  • +2

$5 from $250? Even cashrewards and ShopBack give us better than thatâ€¦đŸ˜…

    • +4

      Stackable.

  • +3

    2% cashback, not that great.

    • +2

Stackable with other offers, e.g. SB giftcard portal.

  • +2

2% cashback is better than nothing. I might use it to pay for the water utility bill as I need to pay it anyway (get charged around 0.5% for a debit card).

    • No fee via Paypal for Sydney Water.

      • Thanks and great to know. But not sure if PayPal is considered a domestic payment?

        I read the T&C as follows, https://www.revolut.com/en-AU/legal/promotions-terms

        What are domestic purchases?
        Domestic purchases are:

        • In-store card payments where the purchase is made in Australia, and
        • Online card payments where the merchant is located in Australia.

For the purposes of assessing whether a purchase is a domestic purchase, we will rely on data provided to Revolut by third party card schemes.

        • I mean it is always no fee via Paypal.

  • Might stack with the 10% back on food

    Which deal is this?

  • +1

Why not just use bloody something like HSBC Global Everyday Debit Card?

getting same 2% back on card (ON under $100 TAP & PAY transactions ONLY)

Nevertheless no minimum spend of $250 required.

This Revolut offer is nothing but Absolute CRAP. It is only targeted to those who never really use their Revolut Card much like me, Because I'd rather use CC to earn points instantly than wait for this CRAP REVOLUT to even track my CASHBACK

    • Without any incentive, I would not use it, either. Every time I used it, it is far more likely to decline a purchase than accept it, which will trigger the anti-fraud protection on the merchant end. The example is Shopback. After I reviewed the purchase and made a new purchase, Shopback would decline my purchase for maybe 24 hrs.

  • Try to use revolut card to pay zip, but cannot add revolut card into zip as a payment method. Anyone has the same issue?

    • No, it wont work. Revolut is a reloadable prepaid card, not a standard debit card issued by a bank. I added it to Paypal as a payment option and Paypal can identify card type.

    • Need to use apple/google pay.

  • For 2% it is not worth it as still need to transfer money into revolut card first unless you have something to pay and don't mind pay with cash.

  • In the offer email:

Cash will be paid out after the promotion period ends.

So, has anyone gotten their $5 or $X (based on membership tier)?

  • This deal should be marked as a scam and a time waster.

    • Yep. Still have not received!

    • +1

I would have to agree. In my case, some of my purchases from Australia retailers actually tracked as non-domestic purchases, meaning I fell short of the $250 as those purchases did not end up counting towards the total.

I paid for a family aquarium trip using my disposable shopping card.
The merchant is Sea Life Melbourne. Yet within analytics, this transaction has been bucketed under "Other". WTF!?

@DoctorCalculon Just to follow on from my last comment, I happened to check my account this evening and found that I did receive a credit of $5 on 13 Jan tagged as 'Revolut Holiday Promo Dec-21'.

I wasn't actually expecting this as like you, I had an almost $200 purchase categorised as 'Other' under my country analytics, which made me assume that I had fallen short of the $250 minimum.

Assuming you also made more than $250 of purchases in the promotional period, it would be worth double checking in case you too have been credited the $5 bonus

            @GreenGuava:

Assuming you also made more than $250 of purchases in the promotional period

Yep. Just checked after seeing your message. It has appeared. Didn't see any notification for the credit.

Anyway, I take back everything bad I said about them. Even if late, Revolut delivered on their promise, unlike eBay.

I had an almost $200 purchase categorised as 'Other' under my country analytics

I am guessing their analytics is a bit stuffed, or they are using a different merchant ID / location for the purposes of the promotion.

  • Never got the $5 from this promo, also transaction for other promo got declined by Revolut.

    • I got $5 today or yesterday.
