  • So the bargain is 3 days with no card fee?

  • +3

There are no fees associated with the Card.gift Gift Card in a digital format, but please note if you decide to purchase a physical format Gift Card, you will be required to pay an issue fee of $4.95 plus standard Australia Post postage costs to receive the physical Gift Card. Note also that any Gift Card that operates on the EFTPOS or MASTERCARD payment systems will cost you an additional charge of $4.95.

What? There are a million layers of buried fees here.

This is overly complex and not even remotely worth the effort/risk lol.

    • +1

Does this mean $4.95 fee for each transaction?

      • +1

Normally just to activate the card not per transaction

    • +2

Want to get the card? No card fee..

You mean you want to use the card? Oh, that's extra!

  • +2

    Complicated and no deal

    • +2

      Yep, no deal here

  • the best use case I can think of is to use this once, in the next 2 days, for something that you don't want to be charged for again.
Only load the value of that transaction.
    Then never touch it again.

Spend $3k on these to meet minimum spend on a brand new credit card for bonus?
That might be a good use

I have a free physical card from my bank, can use google pay.

So, what's the benefit for me using this digital card?

Can you buy with amex with no fee then use where amex is charged fees?

  • hm….I am confused what's the point?

  • Is there processing fee like this?

  • +1

Update: I purchased one to try out, and their SMS link doesn't work, sends to dead link. Now to wait 48 hours for support to respond…
    Not worth it now!

      Not worth it now!

I'm not entirely sure how it was worth it before…

  • You might as well just get Revolut and generate a virtual card number

  • AmEx will simply treat you as high risk customer if you go for this. Potentially will attract financial check.

  • Bankwest Zero Plantinum is better. Why do we have to register for this card???

  • So maybe good for 'new customer' sign ups, ie Uber Eats etc. Not an Eftpos transaction, so no fees?

  • Has anyone successfully purchased one of these?

    • +1

Took the plunge and bought a few. Order confirmation email arrived instantly, and emails with registration links arrived about 20 minutes later.

Clicking on the registration link takes you to a page where you fill in your mobile number, and they’ll send you an activation link via SMS. Weirdly, one of the registration links initially took me to a page with a totally unrelated low value GC, but it worked correctly after a refresh.

Pretty handy for meeting the min spend on a new CC I guess, otherwise kinda pointless.

      • When did you order it? Today or yesterday?

        • +2

          This morning.

There was no fee, by the way. Looks like the $4.95 fee mentioned in one of the comments above is waived as part of this deal.

          • @cynix: There is another option: Green MC that has fee after I added it to cart. Only the Digital MC is on sale.

            • @Neoika: Yeah exactly, this deal is waiving the fee on the Digital MC only, as stated in the original post.

I ordered one yesterday and only got the confirmation email but not the card

    • Still waiting for the subsequent email. Anyone had similar issues? Thought it would be instant delivery

Yes, remember the Vodafone order? In the same boat again! I paid by Gpay on the smartphone. Try to stack with Revolut deal.
