Best Cheap 1000/50 nbn HFC Plan

I'm paying $149 a month recently to Aussie Broadband and doing $9 a month roughly PAYG home phone calls
Speedtested 928.3/47.72 at 5.30am
Future Broadband have a Flatrate Data + Phone Plan and I will ask if I can get the $25/pm discount on this

$145pm
What is the average evening speed for them?

I see Telstra 700mbps but 180/month is a bit out of my budget and Superloop do this as well but Superloop average speed is 500mbps
Launtel don't offer gigabit in my area

Wondering what other gigabit services I have access to on HFC and which will be fastest in Mosman POI

Thanks, Rocky I worked it out from the beginning, was playing with them

      • Like we both are now 👍

  • For what its worth I've never seen my Aussie gigabit lower than 900mbs.

    • Yeah same, every time I do a speed test it's in the 900 - 950 range so it does what it says on the box…

  • Stay away from Aussie, it’s a shame launtel can’t service you as they are way better than Aussie in both price and speeds from my experience

  • how do you know whether your NBN can support 1000mbps? (not asking whether OP's can, just trying to see if there's a way to check whether my connection can)

    • Flashing / solid orange light on your nbn box

The majority of HFC is capable of Gigabit. nbn still need to do Gigabit upgrades at a couple of HFC locations. Check here

Everyone on FTTP has access to Gigabit.

Fixed wireless, FTTN, FTTB and FTTC don't support Gigabit.

      • thanks for this. I tried it and it's spitting out the following;

        NBN Speeds Available: NBN 1000/50M, 250/25M, 100/40M, 50/20M, 25/10M and 12/1M
        NBN Speeds Available: NBN 250/25M, 100/40M, 50/20M, 25/10M and 12/1M

So what does that mean? one has a max of 250 and the other 1000, how do I interpret this?

The top one with Gigabit is a TC4 residential plan. The bottom one with 250Mbps is a TC2 business plan. You can get Gigabit now if you want.
