  • This or Xiaomi pro 2?

Both scooters are very similar however I'd have to go with the Pro 2. The Pro 2 is lighter, yet still has slightly more range than this scooter 45km vs 40km.

The Pro 2 does have smaller tires, however - which is something you might want to consider before making your purchase.

Imo, considering the Pro 2 has dropped to the $500s here on OzBargain, another deal like that would make the Pro 2 a better choice.

      • Thanks - my only worry with the Pro 2 is aftersales support. most are sold by non bricks/mortar stores and online only. Whereas Segway is sold by JB Hifi

        • Hmm that's true, however if I managed to get good enough aftersales support from Banggood with my Ninebot, you should be fine if you picked up the Pro 2 from a Gearbite eBay deal.

        • JB Hifi currently has pro 2 but you pay more for AMG coat lol, they used to have a normal ones but not sure they haven't stocked them for a while

      • thanks for doing the research for me

        • Nws. I love e-scooters and am actually trying to get a job at Walksmart over at the Sydney CBD :)

      • @Zackeroo. Thanks. The reviews about changing tyres issues stopped me from buying Xiaomi Pro 2. I also don't like the way the Xiaomi ecosystem works. Some of the products stopped supporting after 2-3 years. 200$ price differential make me consider Xioaomi.

        • Fair, however the Xiaomi M365 is a example that Xiaomi makes good e-scooters. That's a scooter from 2016 which is still very popular today, and many are still using them. I know someone who has 4500km on theirs and are still running strong.

  • This or max G30?

    • It depends what you want… This is lighter, smaller frame, but has less range (40km) compared to the G30 with 65km range.

If you are willing to sacrifice a bit of range for that smaller frame and portability - this is better for you :)

The trial is coming up next year. To answer your question, yes they would fine them - If you're unlucky, you'll find some guy having a bad day who will ruin your life with a $2.5K fine. I know multiple people living ~1km away from me who got this fine. I've stopped riding because of this :(

      • Damn! $2.5k !! ok cheers. thx for the reply

        • Nws. $2.5K is the usual amount they find people for, although some have reported even higher fines. It's terrible :(

          • @Zackeroo: I know the guy who got the fine and 6 demerit points as well.

            • @SickDmith: There you go!! I'm assuming you're talking about the Olympic Park guy about a month back right?

              • @Zackeroo: Nope. The case I am talking about was a guy commuting in CBD.

                • @SickDmith: Ohh alright, many people are getting these fines all over the place. I'm assuming you're talking about the famous $2.5K fine that the Reddit user got. I've actually talked to him about the issue and gotten more information.

I also talked to some people in Canberra about him and was surprised to see that they were actually from Sydney but on holiday - and they too knew about the Reddit guy hahaha.

                  • @Zackeroo: I know that guy in real life.
I don't think he posted his trauma anywhere online.
The whole thing happened few years ago.
But I am sure there are multiple cases.

                    • @SickDmith: Oh… Would have been useful to know that then lol. I know too many people who have been in these situations, so it's hard to tell based of "a guy commuting in CBD".

Maybe go in store and stack with (Coles 15% ultimate gift card) [https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/669505]

Just what I did 😜 Unfortunately the staff refused to give me $799 and did $839 instead, they said it was an online only deal FFS, and they gave me an F30 so I drove back and gave it back and secured my f40a. Time spent probably 2 hours, JB hi-fi suck.

Went to JB to get price guarantee price drop. After reading ur comment i thought i was going to have the same issue so was prepared to return the 3 f40a i purchased last week for a refund and re-purchase. The guy was chilled about it and refunded the difference back in GC. Now I have >$400 to spend. FTW!

        • I wish my JB hi-fi was this good.

  • I was thinking of getting one for my brother, but he's a bit on the heavy side, at 130KG. This says payload 120KG, I'm assuming that's the max weight of the rider. Though I do see people saying you can go over the limits and its not a huge issue, just expect shorter range, issues on inclines, etc? If anyone has any experience in overloading these :)
