EKWB EK-AIO D-RGB All-In-One 280mm Liquid CPU Cooler $149 + Delivery @ Mwave

130

Normally sold for $179 and currently available for $149. It's currently only $10 above the EK-AIO 240 which is currently going for $139 so it seems like a decent enough price considering a 280 AIO has near performance parity with a 360 AIO. The cooler also comes with an ARBG pump block and 2 ARGB Vardar fans if that's important to you.

The EK-AIO series has also been reviewed favorably by Gamers Nexus and seems to trade blows with the Arctic Freezer Liquid II series (though only the 240 and 360 versions were reviewed). A tear down of the 240 unit also seems to show that it's decently constructed too.

Additionally, if you combine your order with other items such that the total is over $150, you get a $20 shipping fee discount which potentially means you get free shipping if you were going to pick something else up anyways. More details here.

Thank you! been waiting for this to drop in price.
Also add another $1 item to hit $150 for $20 off delivery

  • these are fantastic. I have the 240mm model and I can't fault it.

I'd been debating the EK or arctic for a week or so now.. Finally pulled the pin on arctic, which arrived today when I see this..

They may be clearing these EK Aios to make way for the new EK Nucleus, which is already listed on mwave but no stock

This or a noctua nh d15?

To preface both are extremely capable coolers and are both great choices. If you value aesthetics and superior cooling performance go with the EK however there are the downsides of…

Chance of failure(leakages, pump failure etc.. typically very low),
Harder to cable manage(Both RGB cables and fan cables.)
Noise(at 100% fan speed the EK is 46DBa whilst the D15 is 43DBa.

By choosing the D15 you get the simplicity of installation as it just heatsinks and 2 fans however it is HUGE, make sure you check you have all the room in your case to house it!

End of the day if you don't care about looks and will just 'set and forget' the cooler the d15 is a great buy :)

100% agree with you, you summed up pretty well.

I have the D15 Chromax and I personally love the look of it. Although it was very tight-fit on my Meshify C

One thing noone ever seems to bring up in these comparisons is that your AIO will permeate liquid through the hoses. So add that to the failure point.
It isn't a huge deal (I recently refurbed my H115i which needed a flush out and clean up from all the gunk on the cold plate fins and pump assembly)

So for zero headaches go air cooled. If you don't mind faffing about a few years down the track get an AIO

  • I got high pitch noise when pump running at 100%. Had to lower it to 60%. Otherwise no complaints

  • This or Kraken x63 (yes kraken is a bit expensive but does it worth the extra $$) ?

    • definitely not worth the extra $$, only get the kraken if you really care about aethestics

  • Goes very nicely with the ssupd meshlicious.

  • Sadly had to email to ask to swap for the 240mm version thanks to my silly TD500 (:
