    Targeted

    • +6

Yes but targeted to those who haven't used afterpay at David Jones before. Its in the OPs link.
Thanks OP, this offer applies to me.

    • First purchase at DJ.

      • Has anybody here successfully made a purchase at DJ?

  • +3

Also stacks with 7% Cashrewards today, not bad

  • -3

The Afterpay owners must be so stoked with their timing on the takeover because no one is using them other than when they have a promo and they're just about to be regulated. We'll look back on it as the greatest money making spin ever!

    • Also you get 10pts every $40 spent, and 100pts gets you $10 in pulse rewards offers. That's 2.5% "cashback". And afterpay doesn't make profit. Mind-blowing. I don't think regulation will happen. It makes people spend heaps which is good for the economy, and the market is also saturated, hence Freydenberg talking about healthy competition is a joke.

  • I've got spend $50 get $30 referral bonus. Would they stack up if I spend $50 at DJ?

    • +1

Based on previous AP deals, probably not:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11415305/redir

      Also T&Cs said:

Voucher is a single use only, cannot be used in conjunction with any other Afterpay offer..

      • Thanks. It was wishful thinking :(

    • Even if it does, it is probably not a very good idea. If something goes OOS afterpay is not going to refund you more than you have paid and you will have to chase around to have the discount reinstated.

    • +1

It won't stack, but interestingly I did 2 $50 purchases and it applied the $30 referral first, and the $20 DJ first use on the 2nd transaction.

      • I was on the same boat, first $30 new user applied automatically with no issue, however second $20 discount with second purchase did not shown up. Was I doing anything wrong?

        • +1

I didn't do anything specific. Both orders were over $50. Recommend you call AfterPay - WAY better than email. That channel is a pathetic mess. Dunno what's up with customer service in Aus. But it's subpar compared to other countries. Aussie BB is perhaps the exception to my general experience.

      • Thanks for your comment, I did the same and it worked! Awesome

  • +1

Is the discount visible on checkout or only after you submit to buying $50+ and see the deduction in your AP account?

    • It should be the latter.

      • So is it correct to say, you can’t be certain to get the discount until you buy? Or there a way to confirm you’ll have the $20 deducted from the payment schedule?

        • +3

Once you’re on the AP account page, it should show a deduction of $20 and an option for you to proceed with the purchase or not.

  • Once you claim some offers at decent stores do they give offers only at reject shops for your points ?

  • Just to be clear, so this for the first purchase at David Johnes using afterpay, and they don't count the other purchases using afterpay at different stores.

  • +2

Would've been a good stack with their 20% off Lego sale… if they actually had anything decent available LOL.

    • Pls no Smart A$$'s share the gold mine Lego set lol :)
I given the clue for youse :)
      Merry Xmas .

  • Does David Jones sell third-party gift cards in-store e.g. Apple etc?

  • +1

Can you buy DJ gift card?

    • Probably not. See “ Can I use Afterpay on anything at David Jones?”: https://www.davidjones.com/afterpay

Afterpay is only available on orders valued up to $3,000 (including any applicable delivery fees).
Afterpay is not available for the purchase of: David Jones Gift Cards, Apple, Miele, The Daily Edited, David Jones Flowers, Alcohol or Ultraceuticals.

      • +1

You could buy something then return it onto a returns card for later?

        • You have to return with a gift receipt though

    • Nope. I used the promo code YOURGIFT (for this promo) but couldn’t checkout with Afterpay because a gift card was was in my cart.

  • +2

Has anyone tried combining this with DJ gift vouchers towards the $50?

    • Why would you want to ( risk not getting $20 ) when you are getting 7% CR and 40% off Afterpay spending near the optimal amount ?

      • The Afterpay part is a straight discount u can see before final payment. U can just try and cancel if it doesn’t work

  • +2

Thanks OP - Was applied automatically on selecting Afterpay at checkout from David Jones.

  • Would this stack with Pulse Rewards?

  • +3

Time to buy this cap lol

    • +1

      lol.
      Almost same price as PS5.
Gives reallife gaming experience when you put on

    • Come on, the council’s not that bad…

    • Did it not automatically deduct $20?

      • nah, i called david jones and they couldnt do anything.

        :(

    • +1

Maybe. If by first they really mean second. Do you think they mean second? Maybe. But probably not. Thinking about it a bit more — definitely not.

  • I need a new Brita water filter - it's $44.95 but can't find anything to get me over $50

Same filter is $35 at Bunnings

Chocolates, lollies or maybe even biscuits?

    • +1

I used to work at DJ back in the day and I remember it was pretty easy to price match.

  • Can anyone recommend something worthwhile getting at DJ? I have had a $50 DJ GC since last Christmas and just have no idea what to get, it's all so expensive.

  • +4

Thanks OP, wasn't aware DJ had Nintendo Switch games. Got Pokemon Diamond for $49 with free express delivery.

    • +1

Thanks for the heads up got Mario Party Superstars for $49 delivered too for the young fella for Xmas.

    • +1

Seems like switch games are the only interesting thing to buy…

  • Doesn't work with Gift Cards.

    • Did you try online or in store?

  • +1

    Thanks bought something

  • +1

So glad I checked here! Was umm-ing and aah-ing over a DJ’s purchase today - perfect timing 👌 Cheers, OP 👍😊

  • Went to purchase some things and got to the Afterpay checkout which showed the $20 discount, but then didn’t proceed cause I wanted add more items, when I got back to the Afterpay checkout, the discount was no longer there!

    • +1

Yeah me too… Is it over?

      • T&C’s says midnight of 22 Dec but also says Afterpay can withdraw the offer at any time.

Can anyone else confirm if it’s expired?

        • Worked fine for me . Purchased 5 mins ago.

  • +1

Cheers OP. Grabbed a Fossil Trifold Wallet for $35 delivered

  • +1

Much appreciated OP! Got a combined 45% of on my Lego wishlist item :)

  • +1

How do I know if I spent at a store before?

    • +1

It’s in your Afterpay app under “Orders”.

  • +1

Thanks op, ordered mine on two different accounts. Works fine. Now just waiting cashrewards to track 😏

  • I went to the store and got rejected. It keeps saying "we're unable to approve your order this time. Any idea how to fix this?

    • Just completed two transactions a few minutes ago… 23h45. Worked ok.

    • +1

This happened to me too, i changed my card and it approved. But the $20 voucher was already 'redeemed' on the declined transaction. I had to call them and they said they will look into it. Not worth the hassle. Apparently new accounts are only allowed 1-2 orders at a time.

      • You are right, not worth the hassle. I tried again online, but the afterpay checkout does not show the $20 discount. I just called them and they can only say "try again later"..

        • I was provided the promotion again on my account, even after I made the eligible purchase. I called them up and they said they said they cannot add a $20 credit to my account and told me to make another purchase at David Jones. Needless to say, I will be never dealing with Afterpay again.

  • Nice one. Can't help but think afterpay will be totally inflating their active user base with these free money deals.

    • Yep. Very true. But while it's going I'm happy to be pandered to. :p

  • Can you use the virtual afterpay card on Google pay or Apple pay instore to get around this issue and get gift card? BTW where do you get voucher code and where do you apply it?

    • For your first question, I am not sure if there is a way to work around this.

For your second, you don’t need a voucher code. For stores which accepts Afterpay, at the checkout page, there would be an option to pay using Afterpay. Click on this option to proceed with the payment and it will bring you to your Afterpay account page with the discount applied on your Afterpay account page.

    • Virtual afterpay card via Google Pay/Apple Pay is the only way to use afterpay at DJ. They only put it through as eftpos now.

      • +1

Then you should be able to get GC…just like the JB hifi offer where I used google pay with afterpay virtual card.

        • Hopefully someone can try buy a DJ Gift Card in store and pay with Afterpay Apple Pay card.

  • How did one find out these promo?

  • Does the min $50 include or exclude delivery cost?

  • can't checkout with afterpay when redeeming a DJ reward. -_-

  • -1

They sent me the wrong thing lol
Paid $40 for a top and beanie, and they sent $160 Estee Lauder makeup instead.

Hopefully they let me keep the makeup but I doubt it.

  • anybody know whats a bargain at DJs?

  • i tried using the deal. When transferred to AP it visually shows me the discount $55.20-$20.00 = $35.20. It also shows the amount due today and next 3 payments $8.80 which is correct although when i select payment method APPLEPAY it then shows immediate payment $13.20 and every payment after. Therefore the discount wouldn't be applied. Is this a glitch? Any help
