    • im not sure if we know for sure the specifics of the DOCOMO version. like bands and the unlock status. still googling iy

    • what have you been drinking?
You never have to pay for updates. Let alone from google. Musta been an april fools

      • Lol wtf is drippler?

      • Lol wtf is drippler?

    • not sure where u get that from. Google promised 1.5yrs of software support. this phone was 1st launched with 4.0 so…

    • +1

      Are you on crack?

    • +16

Must be an iCrap lover doing smear campaign on Google. Typical apple-fanbois…

    • +3

Why dont you give us a link for this information.

Saying X and not giving a reference of source is as good as saying tomorrow the Nexus will be $100

      • +2

        rofl nice link.

Check the date also. Pigs do FLY!

      • If that isn't an april fools "joke" I will eat my hat

      • Dude, check the date first.

I feel for the people that wrote 7-8 line comments in response. But they didn't read the comments before them, so not too much sympathy. The second commentator spotted that it was a Fool's Day prank post.

Read in another post someone got Docomo Galaxy Nexus and it has funny bands, no next g and no 1900mhz think it was.
Read bottom couple of posts. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/66182

    • So the website false advertising in the specs, it says: 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100. That's unprofessional…

      • No, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaxy_Nexus

        Compatible networks

        GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
        HSPA 850/900/1700/1900/2100
        HSDPA 21 Mbps
        HSUPA 5.76 Mbps
        LTE (region specific)

So LTE will be the mystery band.
But Docomo's LTE band is 1.5Ghz
        http://www.telecoms.com/29321/lte-network-plans-asia-pacific…
So it won't be compatible with current (1800) or future (700) LTE here in Oz. Maybe a software upgrade will be available in future.

        • LTE band compatibility is hardware not software based, it all depends what chipset they choose to use. You won't be getting this on LTE here ever (most likely). LTE700 is also atleast 2-3 years off the spectrum being released yet along LTE deployed on it…

    • Sorry has next g no 4g. That is going off the posts from a guy who bought one.from

      • lol i think telstra 4g is quite special at this moment, only the 2 phones they have are compatible with it, so if u want to find overseas stock. u have to look hard. docomo is indian telco tbtw

        • Which is owned by and originated from NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone), a Japanese company.

    • +1

      Yeah I'm "the guy"

Here is the link to the actual specs:
      http://ja.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SC-04D

      Don't say don't pitch in…

I warn you guys Optus yes g will not work (for one, I listed other things too)

  • not sure where the "free shipping" comes from ?

  • shipping is $35!

  • can anyone who uses galaxy nexus confirm the battery life??
I mean my S2 last 1.5 days (from 8am - 11pm a normal day), with ave 30min calls, emails sms and say 5-10min browsing, no games or video but according to my friend his nexus does not even last 1 day (typical use similar time on) for moderate day to day usage also no games or video just some internet, emails and calls like me.
I believe any decent phone should last at least 1 day normal use, so anyone can charge at night when they get home without carting a spare battery; otherwise it is no good for me.
    Any user can confirm please??

    • I have Galaxy Nexus, and I get all day out of the battery.

There are a small number of activities that do cause life reduction, but these are no big surprise:

      • tethering

      • causing the GPS to be on all the time eg using MyTracks

Other than that, its a great phone and all round device. Takes great movies as well.

  • Rang the store. Chick told me the docomo version does not support nextg ie 850mhz and therefore no good for Telstra or voda's new network. No probs for optus users.

    • +2

not sure how they get away with the specs on the web page !

  • Is it worth buying ? Has anyone sussed out ? Very tempted to buy for this price, if it's fully functional in Australia.

  • +2

Why on earth would you pay $600+ for an iphone when these are going for peantuts.

    • +5

      because w@nkers have dollars.

    • +2

Wouldn't call $400 peanuts, but yeah they are cheap comparatively.

    • +1

Because they don't depreciate as much. The iPhone might resell for $400 in a year, but the Android will depreciate another $200 in a month!

    1. Shipping is $35…where\how do you get it FREE?
    2. It WILL BE 4G compatible…..once they release the SOFTWARE…I'm told it's just a SOFTWARE update required(S2 will get it first)
    • Shipping is actually free, it's just applied strangely ($35 express shipping, grand total $389)

      • explain please

        • Technically it's $354.43 + $35 shipping. The title is a little deceptive.

edit: The grand total on the final confirmation page is $431 (with insurance), even though the listing for the phone shows $354.43, so it's anyone's guess as to what's going on.

    • The description is misleading….This is how much it would cost you (delivered) :

      Sub-Total : $389.87
Shipping Method: (International Shipping: ($35.00)): $35.00
      Inc GST 10%: $35.44
      Surcharge Fee* (1.5%): $6.37
      Grand Total : $431.24

    • Please enlighten us how it will work on LTE1800 via a software update if it only has a LTE1500 chipset???

SGS2 unless it's the newer LTE version doesn't have a LTE chipset so not sure who told you that but they have no idea….

  • +1

I'd expect there to be a lot of people buying this phone, with all the bloody " I'll buy this once it drops to $400" comments

    • +1

I'll buy it when it drops to $200

      • +3

I'll buy when they pay me to take it!

        • +2

hmmm…that defies the term "buy" but i like the way you think.

        • i was keeping with the template. good pick up tho :)

  • Looks like they simply copied/pasted the specs from their original Nexus i9250 ad, without giving it much thought :

    http://www.iibuy.com.au/samsung-galaxy-nexus-i9250-16g-titan…

  • Wth is Docomo?

    • -6

It's one of the mobile network carriers in India. (TATA Docomo)

      • +5

No it isnt. Docomo is a Japanese telecom. In India they have a partnership with TATAs that run a GSM network. Docomo started in Japan

    • This will give you an idea how much profit iibuy is making. If you Google translate this page. It says the phone costs 10080 yen outright, which is about AUD115.

      https://www.mydocomo.com/onlineshop/product/NEXT/SC-04D/ASC0…

      • Here is the cost of the phone outright - 55,440円 (税込) plus taxes

The one above is a replacement phone if you are already with Docomo

        • Thanks for that. I suppose Google translate can't do everything. :) There must be some way of getting the phone cheaper than the price in this bargain, otherwise there won't be so many docomo galaxy nexus popping up all over the net. Link below has got new phones for about 30000yen but only ship to Japan.

          http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/offer-listing/B006INOHHA/ref=dp_o…

        • That's interesting. buy a new one with 2 year contract 5040yen
          Terminate contract early 9975yen
+ monthly subscription fee at least 1 month + signup fee 3000 yen
          = about 20,000 yen

    • +4

      Samsung is South Korean

  • Also now it looks like they've changed the price of the phone back to $389.87 (excluding shipping). So with shipping it comes to $431-ish.

  • +1

    I think it's just gone up $10. Now $ 399.95 + shipping

    .

  • Problem with this phone is NO SD CARD SLOT

    • same as iPhone has no SD card slot?

  • speaker internal and external are crap. if.u make a lot of phone calls without an earpeice, then this phone is not for u.

  • "stewy 1 hour 50 min ago new
Please enlighten us how it will work on LTE1800 via a software update if it only has a LTE1500 chipset???

SGS2 unless it's the newer LTE version doesn't have a LTE chipset so not sure who told you that but they have no idea…."

Fair call I got the info off the PHONE guy in the Carondale QLD JBHIFI….that told me the Samsung REP saw him and said ALL the Purple sticker phones are 4G…but don't have 4G software of the NEW S2?
I attempted to argue on the spectrum but he said that they all cover it?

  • I just tweeted on the basics to get this phone 100% working on the Telstra network, it supports ALL the necessary Telstra bands:

    https://twitter.com/machict

I prefer the iphone but bought a nexus and im getting used the ICS (its mostly like the acer icona i have) so it wasnt a drama but if apple make a BIGGER iphone with LTE then im back into the fold…

  • from some posts on whirlpool, it looks like the kogan stock is also docomo stock as well (makes sense). Cheaper than Kogan, so why not?

  • It's $400 for me. Expired?

  • It says $399 + $35 (+ $5 insurance) = $440. However, at checkout it came to $400. Has anyone ACTUALLY purchased this deal, and can confirm final amount they got charged? I'm still inclined to go for the Kogan deal as they seem more reputable.

  • +1

Hmm, if only these had a micro sd slot, i'd probably buy one. But at the same time, probably not with the low battery life. My next android phone will have good build quality as well :P

  • Anyone had luck receiving the phone from iibuy?

I ordered about 12 days ago. They used Couriers Please to send from their warehouse (in Sydney) to me (Sydney CBD). The courier picked it up yesterday but it has since gone missing!

    • UPDATE: couriers have found package and delivered ok.
