As part of the upcoming New Year AliExpress Sale is the release of this exciting new Android tablet that I've been eagerly wanting to post for months. What makes this tablet so exciting is that it features Widevine L1 for HD Netflix/Amazon and that's not found in other budget Android tablets.

Update: The tablet has Widevine L1, but Netflix sees it as Widevine L3. According to Blackview (and Chuwi), UNISOC are going through the process of having their chipset approved by Netflix. Until that happens Netflix will be in SD.

Features include Android 11, 10.36" 2K IPS Display, 8GB RAM, 128GB Storage (expandable via MicroSD), UNISOC Tiger 618 Octa-Core CPU, 4G LTE with Dual SIM, 6580mAh battery with USB-C, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, Sony IMX219 8MP Front Camera, Sony IMX258 13MP Rear Camera, 3.5mm audio, GPS and FM Radio.

The tablet comes in Gray, Silver or Teal Green. There's also the chance of getting free Blackview Air Buds and a Bluetooth Keyboard for the first 80/40 orders. Since the tablet is a new release there's no Techtablets or ETA Prime review yet. Eazy Computer Solutions have a tolerable review showing it in person, as well as Cymye (in Spanish) and 実録 (in Japanese)

It will be fine for watching YouTube videos but do note that there's no 4G B28 so the range may be more limited in some areas.

In terms of hardware the CPU in this tablet outperforms the CPU in the Samsung S2 by quite a lot, so it'll be a lot quicker as well as the newer Android version. Don't expect this tablet to every get an Android 12 update though.

      • Thanks Op for the information. Really keen to buy one, anyone with hands-on experience or expert on android Tablets, please comment. If you live closer to major cities in Sydney, what will be the 4G connection/ speed issues you will experience with no B28 band. Anywhere i can find the information about the 4G range and Bands (B1, B2, B28 ). TIA.

        • +1

B28 is more important in regional areas or really dense buildings where 4G doesn't penetrate as well. Sydney CBD in general should be fine without B28.

Make sure to select the ones that say limited under "Color" as they'll be the discounted ones.

If you're getting the US$35 keyboard combo the coupon AETECHS should take US$20 off instead of US$10 like in the OP.

    Code is now GIFT10n

  • Getting $273 after coupon hmm

    • What's your US price?

      • Got it for Aus $259

  • Can't get anywhere near $252 with the coupon https://imgur.com/a/lTjmajl

    • You've chosen the most expensive bundle. My US$ price is on the "Limited" bundles without the keyboard. You're also missing the store coupon.

      https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/144344/92854/blackview…

      • Can't get it below $291. Bored now, it's not worth the effort https://imgur.com/a/NdtScun

        • You still have the wrong bundle. Choose Gray Limited.

          • @Clear: $259 in the end, cheers

          • @Clear: I'm getting $259.38 - is that the cheapest?

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Yeah I think so as AliExpress AU$ rate is going to be inflated over a direct US$ to AU$ conversion. Assuming you have a currency conversion free card setup in PayPal and pay in US.

              • @Clear: I changed currency to US and now get US$176.99 (which is what you said before).
Is it better to choose Paypal and make payment in US$ instead of paying with my visa card in AU$? Probably not much of a difference but does Paypal give a better currency conversion or should I just pay using my visa in AU$ at AU$259.83?

                • +1

@[Deactivated]: If your Visa card doesn't charge you for currency conversion fees, then having the AliExpress currency to US$ and making sure it pays in US$ during PayPal checkout will bring it closer to $252 AU.

  • Does anyone have recommendation for a good kickstand case. I'm thinking of moving from Lenovo duet Chromebook to this one but I just love the duet's kickstand built so much

    • +1

Besides the included case you can pay extra to have the keyboard and that acts like a stand. The tablet is too new for their to be other cases released yet.

  • Thanks 'Clear' just bought one….

I got to use my new Revolut card from the recent shopback promotion to convert $252AUD to $177USD and pay for it that way.

Very easy and took all of 2 minutes.

    • No idea how I missed the Revolut card deal! Excellent way of buying from AliExpress it seems.

Let's hope this tablet works out to be good.

  • All the "Limited" ones are greyed out for me… a minute ago there's still plenty left, not sure what's going on!

    • Here's hoping they restock soon..

  • Last night I ordered a "Limited" version and thought I paid AU$259.38, but I checked this morning and I've been charged $273.83.
Is $273.83 the same as others have paid?

    • Did you apply both the code and US$20 off?

      • Yes I'm pretty sure I got the US$20 off or AU$28 because I was in AU$ currency
I've just put in a request to cancel with the reason being the seller increased the price

        • If you download the invoice in the order it should show the breakdown of price. Would be interesting to see that

          • @Clear: Here's my invoice. You can see they increased the price from US$176.99 to US$189.45. And I definitely made sure coupons were applied and I entered the promo code to show it at US$176.99 before ordering
            https://i.imgur.com/yGibJGi.jpg

            • @[Deactivated]: Definitely seems a bit suss. That's a disappointment.

Plenty more good tablets will come though.

      • Same, they charged me an extra $10usd….

        • Check your order within the app and see. The PDF invoice doesn't show the correct amount as it excludes AliExpress coupons.

          • @Clear: checked my bank statement and it shows pending charge with extra $10usd charge.

            • @noshopping: This is all too confusing lol. I ended up paying more for the keyboard so i can't really compare mine.

              • @Clear: lol, decided just to ignore it as it's already fairly discounted.

                • @noshopping: Certainly cheaper than any of the other UNISOC tablets. I checked the rest from other brands last night and couldn't get any to come close to this. All US$190+.

    • My invoice did not show the US$10 code discount but the charge on Paypal and my CC gives the correct price so it's all good… did you check what you're actually charged?

      • Yes they charged me US$189.45 instead of US$176.99, see invoice here:
        https://i.imgur.com/yGibJGi.jpg

        • Actually I just checked and the invoice is incorrect. Checking the actual order on the app shows the extra $10 off. The invoice doesn't show the AliExpress coupon.

          • @Clear: Hmm that's strange, I checked my credit card transactions and it's showing as $259.38. But when I log into Aliexpress app it shows as $256.14 but shows as $277.85 on the invoice page. They have refunded me but now I've sent the seller a message asking if I can buy it again for $256.14

  • Anyone else or is it just mine that says shipment cancelled?

    • Mine's same! hopefully not really cancelled.

      • Same here.

  • Mine got delivered today… was not expecting to arrive until new year but all within 2 weeks.

Bad news is wifey says I cant open it until Xmas day which is a bummer…

    • Wow that's really unlucky. The mistake was telling your wife about it.

Mine arrived in the country 2 days ago so I'm hoping I get it before Christmas.

    • That's quite interesting. I I've never been in a relationship like that and often wonder if people are serious when they say stuff like that or is it all a joke?🤔
I can't imagine my partner telling me what I can and can not do to this degree

      • +1

Yeah - It was said with an element of tongue in cheek. Been married for over 25yrs and wifey never knows what to get me for Xmas as we usually just get what we want at the time - so when this arrived earlier than expected she said save it for Xmas. It was something to open on the day and more for show when unwrapping presents with the family.
I appreciate your concern though as I know a few blokes like that myself :-)

  • My one turned up on the 23rd, it went under the tree.
It feels a little chunky but it's light and the included cover is handy.
I'm very happy with it so far.
Put a voda SIM and a 64GB SD card in, working as expected.
Nice screen, battery seems good, performance for me is fine.

    • Just to add the weight of the tablet(incl microsd and SIM) is 503g, with cover is 663g.
Netflix app playback specification shows only widevine L3, but DRM app shows widevine L1 support.
I have no idea if Netflix will change it though.
