    This is the an updated model which is quieter & has 20% more cooling capacity according to Nobo. When running at full capacity the SPL is 54 db. By comparison a fridge humming is 40 db & a normal conversation is 60 db.

  Keep in mind you get portable ACs second-hand for very cheap mid year, like $100-200 for those that cost $600+ new. Few people are interested in buying when summer heat is a distant concern, but there's a steady supply of people needing to get rid of them (e.g. renters moving to a new place with fixed AC), so it's a buyer's market.

  I picked one of these up before christmas, very very very good unit ,sound wise it isnt bad either ,about the same as a large fan

  I have never seen this at RRP price anywhere, who sells these things at such a ridiculous price… only dollars difference between them and the bastards at harvey norman!
