A video of this backpack, it's in Russian but it show it all:

  • Got the osprey Farpoint 40l for carry on, and while it seems like a quality backpack there are straps and crap everywhere which makes it cumbersome and I don't think you can hide them.

Would be a great pack for actual hiking.

Wish I had got this deal instead with just a simple two shoulder strap design.

    • Whats the difference between the Pulsar and the Farpoint/Fairview? The Farpoint/Fairview are highly reviewed and rated Travel packs, but I can't seem to find any info on these ones?

      • As far as I see, these are discontinued backpacks. Not sure why. But can't go wrong for < 40 AUD.

      • The Farpoint's big selling point is that it's a pack that you can treat like a suitcase for travel. Like, you can conceal the shoulder straps behind a panel and it's got a handle on the side to carry like a suitcase, so it's easy to put in checked baggage. The whole front unzips, which is much better for travel than a top-loading pack. That's why it's recommended specifically as a travel pack. If you're not flying with it then you'd be better off with one without the weight of those features.

As for the Pulsar, to me it looks like it is competing for the "generic backpack to take to school" market. Serious hiking packs always have bigger belts/more padding to clinch around the hips because it's so important to get the weight in the right place. See also: basically every pack Osprey sells that is more than $150.

  • clicked the link, all had stock. went to shopback then went for it, black is out of stock.

I have a few osprey packs across my family. Their backup support is insanely good. Like lifetime - true lifetime.

  • The Porter 46 in Red or Black is only $99 with free shipping https://www.paddypallin.com.au/osprey-porter-46-duffel-bag-s…

Have been waiting for good price on this for long time, had to pull trigger. But not sure when I'll get to use it just yet…….

  • Why they have same bag at 2 different prices

    $144
    https://www.paddypallin.com.au/osprey-porter-30-duffel-bag-s…

    $90
    https://www.paddypallin.com.au/osprey-porter-30-duffel-bag-s…

edit.. they just increased the price from $90 to $144

  • This was a scam. The one they sent is a sample with a label attached clearly marked $0 RRP

    • What did they send ? For me it was refunded as I wanted it urgently and they told they can't fulfill that ..

      • It's the same bag but it's labelled Same $0.
        RRP $109.

They got the sample free for Window dressing etc and sold it
