Blundstones are highly regarded and very popular in North America. I wouldn’t put them in the same category as RMs, they’re just high quality, fashionable, waterproof boots in their own regard.

This is a really good price btw, recommended!

    • yeah i would definitely not say they are the "new" cheaper version of RMs as they've been around so long. last time i went back to Canada I had to bring back a suitcase of blundstones for different friends/families

  • Yeah. Not same category as RMs. Cheapmans RMs!

These boots were literally part of the primary school uniform when I was at school in the late 90s. They were like $60.

Gowings Market Street Sydney used to do a roaring trade in Blunnies through the late 80s and early 90s.

That and five dollar guys' haircuts.

My god. Haircuts in Sydney $5. Those days. I have free haircuts now….do my own!

      • You beat inflation

Thanks OP! I got the brown boots. A little unsure of the sizing and people saying the quality has gone down-hill since manufacture has been moved overseas but hopefully they serve me well as a versatile, comfortable boot.

  • Got the brown suede delivered today.

Pretty happy with the fit and quality for $74.50 delivered.

Had old-school leather Blundies gardener boots back in the 90s that lasted me a decade of travelling all over the place, with just a routine shoe polish every so often.

Made in Vietnam, with synthetic inners and sole, these are not top shelf like footwear from RMW or northern England makers, but would say they are on par with the Rivers Goodyear welt boots that go on sale for ~$50 a few times a year. I also have the Rivers, which are pretty comfy and have endured pretty well after a few years of decent use. Will be interested to see how these Blundstones fare over time after I've had the chance to spray a protector onto the suede.
