Theragun Elite (Black) $486 in-Store/ C&C/ Delivered @ Shaver Shop

20

Seems to be the lowest price ever on ozb, RRP is $649 and down to $486, lower than amazon

Also $484 at The Wod Life Theragun Elite Black with free delivery

Picked one up after buying the Homedics one a few months ago which just doesn't cut it.

The Theragun Elite is the middle of the G4 generation between the Pro and Prime; it's also the quiestest of their range considering how loud the previous G3 series were

This is what I noted compared with the Homedics:
1. Sound - Theragun is slightly louder and makes more of a motor whining sound than the whirring sound of the Homedics. Previous gen G3 was crazy loud even though they can be found cheaper on Kogan, for reference
2. Amplitude - this is how far the head protracts in and out - Theragun 16mm and Homedics only 4mm from my measurements. Makes a huge difference in impact which leads to the next point
3. Force - Theragun stall force feels like it's at least 10x greater than the Homedics. The Homedics stalls the motor if you give it minimal amount of pressure so it's not really possible to dig it in for deep muscle massages, which you end up needing because the amplitude is so small and can't really get a good thigh or calf massage. Theragun takes a crazy amount of pressure before it stalls (40lb according to their site) to the point where I've only used used maybe 3/4 of the max pressure. The display shows the level of pressure as you dig in. Might upload a video of the stall force if I get the chance
4. OLED display - shows the RPMs, pressure and basic battery level. Homedics has no display.
5. Handling - Theraguns weird triangle design actually means more places to grip it so you can get to your back and neck easier
6. Price - obviously the Homedics is a fraction of the price, but considering the above that seems to be about correct based on the relative performance imho - you get what you pay for. I see members saying how it does the same job as a Theragun without having tried both so I thought I'd share my actual experience, but YMMV

If I can get hold of the Amazon Renpho that would be an interesting comparison

Check out AVE on youtube who did a teardown on the Theragun; verdict was the build quality was not in line with the price, but with that it still seems to be the most powerful consumer device on the market

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2021

  • Great description. I was wondering what the difference is between this and my $70 massage gun that works an absolute treat! Now I've read your description it makes sense but not dollars 😁

    • Which one have you got?

    • not sure how you feel works an absolute treat, that is just not possible. remember you are looking for some punch not just vibrating.

      just hear this:
you wont know until you try. no one can tell you even with 100000 words

    • As far as I understand this ^^ is basically close as $70 by power (stall force) travel of the head is similar, but the the pro model is much stronger and has swapable batteries. Otherwise is overall quality.

  • Cheaper if you get from Pushys today with the 15% off. Just bought one for my mum.

Good spot, $424 with free shipping. Unable to change the deal now unfortunately but at least can get the price difference back onto my credit card

  • Spend abt $25 more and go Pro

  • I regularly gym but I ain't no pro athlete. I ended up with slip discs doing deadlfts a while back and constantly have pain in my lower/upper back and traps when I train.

Is this worth it for someone with just muscle/back pain and not a pro athlete?

    Any advice would help!

These are best used on healthy soft tissue. Keep it away from bone, and if the tissue is inflamed then this will cause it to get worse.

These are great, even for someone who isn't a pro athlete, but I think they get a lot of bad feedback because people don't know when to use them.
