    What's the standard? Which ones in this price range come up but are worse (or better)?

      no standard. lower power units are 200w-300w and are pretty underpowered for most applications. 600w -700w units are the best power wise. Fav brand for this is usually the braun multiquick line but usually more expensive. Dont have personal experience with the panasonic hand mixer
