Recommend Me a Froothie Blender

Hey guys
I'll be setting up a new home and looking to fit out a kitchen with appliances.

Looking in particular for a blender. I've narrowed down to the froothie as I don't think I can afford a Vitamix.

The way I understand it is, that froothie essentially copies vitamix's expired patents? Not sure if true but I'm under the impression this is a comparable product for a cheaper price.

Can someone please recommend me a blender from the list above? I need it for daily use for nut butters and smoothies. Happy to pay the extra $110 for lifetime warranty.

I find the website not very clear. Not sure which is the right model for me. Does anyone have any advice/input?

Thanks

we've had one of the original optima models for about 6 years now.still going strong,
    - blades are still sharp,
    - stop start usage, some months will see daily use and then stowed away for another few months and then taken out again..

the unit we have is really well made, cant fault it

    • Thanks. That's reassuring. What sort of things do you make in them?

      • smoothies mainly…

I find mine defo struggles with nut butters, and often with ice. I’d highly recommend, and suggest, to go for a Vitamix instead if you can stretch your budget a little. It’s definitely going to be my next purchase for sure. They do go on sale (Myer, Peters Of Kensington EBay stores etc.) often enough so I’d keep an eye out.

In saying that, for basic smoothies, Optimum does the job well enough.

    • Do you have a link to the model you have? So confusing wwith all the names and models

      • I have the E310 got it on sale from DJ’s a while back. Use it almost daily.

Originally bought it for nut butters and it has not let me down

      • Hey mate!

Apologies for the late reply, just saw this. I have the Optimum 9400 that we bought a few years ago so it would be the first generation I think. It has been very lightly used on and off but I’d put my money on Vitamix anytime. Currently Peters of Kensington are having a great Black Friday sale on eBay if you’re thinking of getting one.

        Hope this helps!

        Cheers

    • we love our vitamix, well worth the money.
we use it about 10 times a week.
easily does anything we put in it (nuts/seeds/ice/etc).

I bought the 9200A in Jan 2020 and use it several times/week. Smoothies, hummus, made almond flour once and some other things. Works well and so far no problems. I ordered the 8200 but they offered the 9200 for a bit more, not sure if that happens every time.

    • How was the almond flour?
      Any problems with noise?

      • Almond flour was good, perhaps not quite as fine as shop bought but it did the trick in my banana bread. The noise, well I thought it would be worse, but it is loud. It is also fast and powerful, so while loud it is not very long. Still a bit deafening, but I think all the high powered blenders are.

  • Blendtec Stealth 895

or any of the blendtec models are really good. well worth the money.
