Thinking of buying one, but do these actually cool the room? How do they compare against say kogan portable air cons?
No they don't. Don't bother. It's a normal fan. Even the hot and cool fan are crap. The hot works but the cool is really just a normal fan. So I don't understand how they justify a $900 pricetag for those. But it's Dyson, so not surprised
Had mine for over two years, heats the living area in my home very well during winter and the fan circulates the air well too with the oscillation and multiple fan speeds. I can't fault it even for its price. For the same money as this deal I'd be getting the Hot + Cool version.
I don’t understand the downvotes, Mr Frodo is right. Dyson hot cool or pure cool don’t actually cool, they just move the air around really nicely with an expensive replacement filter. This is no air conditioner. The heated ones are nice, but once again electric heaters are bound by physics. You cannot improve upon the basic equation of turning electricity into heat, other than better quality materials that last longer. We have an older hot cool dyson that’s heats the room nicely because of the fan plus heat combo, but are are never worth the asking price.

That's ok though, i'd also do so (maybe) if I had extra $500-$700 to spare.

How do the Kogan version compare to these ? Has anyone tried the Kogan or Kmart bladeless fans?
All I know is choice gave the Kogan bladeless fan their 2021 shonky for being a bad product.
