Works out to be 30c a battery. From the Big W website:

  • Ding

    • is that ding from the Warden from Alcatraz?

      • I think that is a Chinese word means 'support' …

      • So I should have bought these in '63?

  • AA size no longer available online (not sure if its the same price in store)

  • Ozbargained?

Unfortunately we can't find the page you are looking for.

You may have stumbled upon an old link, or it could be a temporary site glitch.

    • Works for me, though the AA's are now only avaliable in store.

  • Can you actually get the batteries instore?

A good deal, although only slightly cheaper per cell than the everyday price on the Vartas from Bunnings. I've come to regard the Vartas highly and haven't had one leak - yet. Had three Eveready E2's in two separate devices leak recently which shocked the bejesus out of me.
These Chevrons are the same as those sold by Walmart in the U.S. and as far as I can tell come off the same production line in China as Jaycar's Eclipse batts. Perfectly reasonable, although I've found the Vartas last longer (and incidentally, longer than the standard Energizers).
When they're on special in big packs, the Aldi batteries are maybe the pick of the bunch. Number 1 overall in recent Choice mag tests, and by quite a margin.
