Nice find OP, if only it had Sapphire glass
i think some dive watches trade off the sapphire vs mineral for the shatter vs crack factor underwater …for me it’s cost cut …..my seamaster is sapphire as is my 500m diver ….must say though with my mineral glass watches they don’t actually have scratches i find ….
True. Unfortunately I am a bit clumsy and do end up finding unique ways of getting scratches on them. Have had a few And they have not upheld as good as the sapphire ones.
Some Omegas have plastic (ie acrylic).

Dive watches are a completely different beast where the crystal needs to withstand hundreds of meters of water pressure. The crystal is often domed and flattens as depth increases. That's the main design consideration.
