I'm installing floating floors job almost finished.
They are 2 tradies working in a "partnership" sharing work.
both worked on the job tradie A is a pain he got the job, B is good and accommodating
Tradie A
when sliding door was scrapping on the floor, he wanted me to get a door person to cut off 1" of aluminium because it was not his job
B stepped in and suggested we buy a metal multitool cutter & cut it off. ( I bought it for $23 and cut it myself took, 5min.)
Job was finished when they discovered that 3 ducted heating vents were not cut out.
On one duct wrong pilot hole 1/2" was drilled (to insert jigsaw)
Now I have a 1/2" hole next to a duct in dinning room.
He claims he can't remove the damaged board as he will need to remove 2sqm of boards to get to it.
He also does not seal the board edging against the sliding doors leaving an expansion joint of 5mm to collect debris.
We had agreed that he will re-install the skirting but he's now refusing wanting to charge me +$300, I've caught him lying on multiple occasions
Now claims he can come to the house because I'm unvaccinated.
I had paid before I remembered the hole , but now I've reversed payment.
What is the best way to handle it.
ask fair trading for advice.
know that the law is pretty toothless when it comes to tradies
