  Not that i expect this to be fixed but the linux app won't install on Pop OS (ubuntu derivative) because of a non-supported glibc version.
  Would also be nice to get a browser extension similar to what nordvpn has.

    It is easy to install OpenVPN on linux and connect to Oeck without using our app. If you open a support ticket, we will be happy to provide you with instructions.

    The browser extension is not on the roadmap unfortunately. Is there a specific reason you want to use the VPN through your browser alone?

      Yup have set it up with openvpn before.

      As for the browser just convenience, I don't run a vpn all the time on my main computer, so sometimes useful to access region locked things quickly by switching on a browser extension vs a desktop app etc. and having all my traffic go through the vpn and have things like email freak out cause its being accessed by a new location.

    Firstly thank you for being our customer. After your two year subscription comes to an end, please submit a support ticket and we will give you a discount on your next subscription.

    We don't make a profit through these offers, as they are there to give us some exposure through being on OzBargain and word of mouth from new customers in order to allow our business to grow. Having said that, we do reward loyal customers at the end of their subscriptions if they missed out on previous offers.

  Will I be able to trial for 3 days first and then avail this offer?

  I'm currently with Surfshark (after moving from ExpressVPN since they're now owned by Kape….) and the speeds here are.. decent but could be better. I'm interested to see if Oeck can give me a better speed in which I'd be giving up my remaining months subscription to move over.

  EDIT: Great… I can't even sign up with my email address because the domain is deemed as a "throwaway email address", though it's one of the better known privacy-centric email providers…

  OP - I'd suggest getting rid of this limitation and rather implement a different way to limit people getting unlimited free trials. A company that thrives on providing privacy to their users doesn't look good when they're forcing the users to sign up with a potentially identifiable email address.

    Can you please let me know what the domain of your email address is? We use a very extensive list for abuse mitigation. If your email is actually a privacy focused email address, we can unblock the domain if we deem it appropriate. You can PM me that information if you like.

    It is important that we are able to contact our customers in case of an emergency, so we do require a form of communication. Email is very good for that.

    You can use the service for 3 days and then pay. However, if the slots get sold out the offer expires.

  Hi OP, I just had to submit a ticket due to the payment failing due to "incorrect security code" from my card, but it's definitely correct. Also, I insert a screenshot of the error as well as my bank account app showing money has been taken out.

  Appreciate all future help with this issue. :) Also just an FYI in case others get a similar error.

  OP. It's saying my hotmail address is a throwaway so I cant activate the 3 day trial (which I don't want anyway). I'm not going to use my work email to sign up to a VPN. What am I supposed to do?

  Error 404
  We allow a 3 day free trial because, as consumers ourselves we hate having to pay first to try. This is something we have done to make users happy. Due to this, we have banned throw-away email addresses in order to avoid abuse.

  Please use a non-throwaway email address to proceed.

    Sorry about that. Our system had added a domain which caused problems with Hotmail. This is now working again and you should be able to sign up without an issue.

    Hi KinG3o0o,

    It depends what speed you are getting. If you're looking for Wireguard speeds, we won't be able to do that as we run OpenVPN. If your speeds are slower than other VPNs who also use OpenVPN then I would suggest trying different settings. This is done on purpose as different devices react differently to different settings. Please try;

    AES-128 UDP
    AES-256 UDP
    AES-128 TCP
    AES-256 TCP

    One of those will be the best match for your device.

    If the speeds are still slow, please open a support ticket.
