[Switch] Cyber Deals Sale - Up to 75% off (eg Cities Skylines $15.00, Dragon Quest XI S $27.48) @ Nintendo eShop

1040

Looks like another eShop deal is coming up for Switch, up to 75% off selected titles.

AU Twitter Link.
Sneak peek deals.

I'll add more notable titles to the list once the sale goes live. Sale has started! I've added some more goodies to the list that popped up, will add more as I see them

Like last time, roundings may be slightly off by 1 or 2 cents at most as I can only see percentages, but these should be the prices. EDIT: Fixed pricing for some of the original items, the percentages weren't right on the original sneak peak list for a few of them. They should all reflect the correct AU pricing now.

Side note, from the pic in the sneak peak link, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will also be on sale, though no specific discount listed at this stage.

I have been waiting for a sale in digital version of Mario Kart for over a year and Nintendo just don’t put it on sale anymore. It must be top of the sales chart during covid lockdowns?

    Good deal for Dragon Quest.

    • +2

      +1 for Dragon Quest

    • +1

The Black Friday Switch Bundle will come with Mario Kart 8, so hopefully you'll be able to find someone selling their digital code.

      • +2

That’s a brilliant idea, thank you.

      • got a link?

        • The past few years, Nintendo has released the same Black Friday Switch + MK8 Bundle.

Currently, the bundle has only been revealed for US, but AU will most likely get the same bundle.

          • @RichardL: that would be perfect. My son really wants a switch & mario kart

    • +1

Lot of the mario software is discounted on the US nintendo store at the moment. Think mario kart is currently $35 US

    • -4

You've been waiting over a year to play a game just to save like 20 bucks?

      • +4

No I already have a physical copy but I want to get a digital copy to save me from swapping cards.

But even if I don’t, I have a massive backlog of games that I won’t finish in a few years. So I can afford to wait.

  • +3

    C'monnnn Dragon's Dogma

    • +1

It goes on sale pretty regularly, judging from DekuDeals graph it's due soon.

      Also, good taste 😎

      • +1

Yeah I had to suss Deku before I commented, the graph has me hopeful it will be.
        And thank you!

      • +2

Here I am waiting for a sale on Dark Souls.

        • Fingers crossed, seems to go on sale around November according to Deku Deals, so hopefully it comes up here!

    • Its so damn great on every platform.

Just wish one day someone would come along and buff hybrids a bit, because pure stat builds are still significantly better end-game.

I love how this game stayed cult for so long.

  • Thanks, been waiting for this - Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2

Does anyone have any ideas how I can give this to my son as an Xmas present? obviously it doesn't come in a box so looking for ideas instead of telling him to check his switch…

    • +7

Could probably purchase it on the eShop but don't download/delete it if it starts to auto download, then write a little card for him with steps (can make it fun/cryptic!) of going to the eShop, searching for the game, and hitting download.

There's probably some better ways, but just an idea :)

    • -1

JB's selling a boxed copy (although it does still require a download): https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/nintendo-switch-tony-hawk…

      • It's $30 more expensive than through the eshop, unless they also put it on sale at the same time? Maybe Amazon will?

    • Can you just print something out and stick it on a box and wrap it up? Inside could have a note telling your son to check his switch?

      • yeah good idea.

        • +1

You can add something heavy in there too and a marble (or something else that makes noise when you shake it) in case your son is the curious type about his presents!

  • +3

I think this will be the second or third time Will of Wisps goes on sale and Blind Forest doesn't. I want to play Blind Forest first but really don't want to pay full price for a game that old…

    • FWIW they're both on gamepass, so you could get a month for $1 to play Blind Forest and buy Will of Wisps on switch, or just play them both there 😉

    • +1

You do really want to play blind forest first as well. May as well buy the one on sale now though cause i had the reverse waiting for the will of the wisps to go on sale!

      • I bought Will of Wisps last sale haha. I've got a big enough backlog so I'll just keep waiting.

    • -1

I skipped Blind Forest and just played Will of Wisps earlier this year and absolutely loved it. Honestly I don't feel like I missed out on anything as the story is very self contained and from what I've read, the platforming and combat mechanics are so superior in Will of the Wisps — they really refined the formula.

  • I'm not a fan of jrpg anymore, but my friend told me dq11 is the best of its type. Should I bother?

    • +1

It depends, I personally had a lot of fun with it but never finished it due to it being such a long game.

It's definitely a very good traditional style JRPG, but if you can't be bothered with super long games then probably best to avoid it.

EDIT: Shonko just commented below, apparently there's a hefty free demo to try out so give it a spin and see if you like it.

      • Yeah, those are fears. It's the same reason I didn't bother with trial of mana remake despite being a mana fan as a kid. They're often too long winded, like a page turn that needs an hour of pushing the analogue stick up pressing A button mindlessly.

        • +2

Yep exactly, I'm in the same boat as you. I used to adore 60 hour+ JRPGs like that when I was younger but now I just want shorter games 😆

If you don't have the patience these days then maybe avoid or at least try the demo to see if it clicks.

        • +2

Trial of mana remake is actually very short. Managed to do 3 runs in under 50 hours and my first game was trying to complete everything. 3 Runs to platinum the game.

Saying that, DQ XI is a really great game and a veryyyyy long one as well. 100 hours into it and still a bit more to play.

  • +6

Great price on Dragon Quest XI! Remember, if you're not sure you'll like it you can get a free demo on Switch of the first 10 or so hours, and if you decide to get the full game, your save carries over.

  • +3

As always, you can use DekuDeals to find the full list of bargains available: https://www.dekudeals.com/

    • +2

Deal isn't live yet, so wouldn't be on Dekudeals. Good to get a headup

  • +2

DQ XI is superb, great price for it too.

  • +1

    33% is the magic number.

    • -1

      ITM

  • Fingers crossed Smash Bros goes on sale!

    • The way beyond overpriced DLC as well hopefully, so I can sort out a christmas wish list item for the younger ones.

  • +3

Dragon Quest XI S for $28, that's the best value RPG I've seen in a long time. Sure some games from 20 years ago for a couple of $s, but this is truly one of the best JRPGs of all time as far as I'm concerned. It just does this formula really well, has great characters with great variety too, and the story is worth paying attention to, which isn't always the case, so all up it works very very well.

  • +1

Dragon Quest XI is absolutely fantastic - as someone who is not usually into JRPGs, I really enjoyed it.

Definitely going to get Tetris Effect for that price. Perfect portable game.

  • +1

Wow.. witcher 3 for $30 is not bad!

    • +1

Highly recommend playing it on another console if possible. Graphics are not great on Switch, I had trees loading as I was riding into them etc. I had to return it. Much better on PC, and cheaper

      • +1

The Switch version was terrible at launch but the 3.6.0 update (I think) introduced graphical settings options. Turning off AA in the settings makes the game look a lot better.

  • Anyone played Pikmin 3? I've never played any but they look fun, would anyone recommend?

    • +1

Haven't played it but there's a demo on the estore if you want to give that a try. :)

    • i got it on wii U it's pretty cool

    • Pikmin games are always a good time. There's definitely enough to keep you entertained for a short while. It's one of those games that you'd play for a short time and then shelve though, it doesn't have the same longevity as a Mario Kart or Animal Crossing style of game

  • +1

Need discounted eShop card … where is JB / Big W in this.

    • +2

I reckon they'll have some for black friday next week, and this digital sale goes on until the 30th so might be best to just wait it out a bit.

      • Are those discounted cards in store only? Or can you also buy them online and they email you the code? I don't know how it all works

        • Yeah in-store only for these ones.

  • +1

    Ahhh Fifa 22 on switch….
Anything over $10 for a switch version is overpriced rubbish.
Hope poor sales kill it off or force EA to put some effort into it.

    • +4

The Switch versions have been such lazy ports! It’s disappointing that EA have put such little effort, and have just reskinned 2019 over and over. At least the other platforms have seen engine upgrades.

      • +2

It’s a joke that people have consistently paid $60 a year for a roster update with 0 in game play changes.

I understand it can’t run the same quality game engine as a Playstation or xbox and is just a portable version, but to put nothing into it every year and want a new game premium is ridiculous.

  • For now my wallet is safe 😂

  • Will there be promo for mario ace tennis?

  • thanks, i was about to change my switch account region to NA just to take advantage of some of the big Black Friday sales. guess i wont have to for a little longer

  • Waiting for a deal for switch bundle!

  • Waiting on deal on Digimon game!

    • which Digimon game?

  • I have purchased a switch for the kids Christmas present this year and it’s sitting in the box hidden away. Am I able to create an account and make purchases on a computer rather than directly on a switch?

    • +2

You can, but in order to buy games you do unfortunately need an actual Switch with the account activated on it.

    • If you have a mate with a switch whom you trust, ask them to link your account to their switch and purchase games that way (disclaimer being it won't let you buy games already on that switch). You can unlink and relink with your actual switch after.

      • +7

Seems likely it will be easier to get the switch out of hiding, set it up, download some games then pack it away again.

        Thanks for your replies.

  • +4

Its crazy that an old AF game like shovel knight is selling for $40+

  • Damn, I just bought DQXI S physical copy for $50 and haven't touched it yet… I probably should have waited for this. At least I can probably sell it for a decent price in the future…

    • Haha I bought the digital version just last week. I actually struggled to get into it for the first 10 hours but shortly after that it really seemed to improve and am enjoying it a lot now.

    • If you're in Melbourne ill take it off your hands. Im looking for a physical copy.

  • I just bought a Switch for my GF. Is it common practice to buy digital games in other countries when they are on sale? I live in Korea and my partner in Australia and I see games prices much cheaper here and in other markets.

    • +1

Some regions such as Korea require ID verification to sign up for the eshop but in your case you can probably do this easily since you live there.

A couple of things to be aware of with region hopping include forfeiting your Gold Points each time you change regions, must have no monetary balance before hopping, and regional differences in some titles.

It's not that easy to region hop to some countries especially for the South American stores which also require ID verification.

  • Dragon Quest XI:S definately for me at that price :)

    • What's the benefit in waiting a week? And how long are these on sale for?

      • +1

Most of these are on sale until the 30th. Next week is BF and there's 99.9% chance of their being eShop cards on sale. Get these down even cheaper!

  • How to buy Unravel Two? Can't find it on Nintendoh's site.

  • Ashen is also on sale for $19.99, down from $53.99.

    • Thanks, added it!

  • I followed the other xenoblade chronicle definitive edition thread earlier. This deal isn't any better than the posted amazon one few days ago. I was hoping it would match the historic low ($40?).

  • +1

Catherine Full Body also down from 79.95 to 31.98, recommended if you like puzzle games and a weird-ish premise :P
